It was directed by Yõ Moriyama and is based on a manga of the same name written by Chikara Sakuma. The Anime is having 13 episodes while the manga is still ongoing.
The Anime is set up in a world where the Sports Boxing has taken an entirely new form named as “Megalo Box”.

Megalo Box is a lot like normal boxing, but with a difference that the boxers make use of mechanical limbs known as GEARS to enhance their speed and strength and compete against each other. The story revolves around a man known as “Junk Dog” (Later on known as Joe) who used to be a very talented boxer but had to throw off some of his matches as dictated by his Boss.

He left fighting in the Megalo Box when he was defeated by the champion Megalo Boxer known as ‘Yuuri’ who was fighting in the Megalo Box while hiding his identity. The story is about Junk Dog who changed his name to Joe after being defeated by Yuuri and started preparing for a Worldwide Tournament that decides the strongest Megalo Boxer called ‘Megalonia’ in just a mere three months. Will he be able to win against Yuuri? Will he even be able to fight against Yuuri? The anime features Joe who gives his all after being backed up by his boss just to regain his reputation in the Megalo Box and beat his only rival Yuuri.

“To be quiet and do as you’re told, that’s the cowardly choice.”
– Junk Dog(Joe)
