As fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming release of Taylor Swift’s re-recorded album, “1989 (Taylor’s Version), scheduled for next month, her spokesperson has clarified the speculation surrounding th possible involvement of her ex-boyfriend Matty Healy and his band in the project.
Contrary to the speculations, gossip, and sensational tabloid stories, it is now confirmed that one of the rumored contributors to Taylor Swift’s re-recorded album “1989 (Taylor’s Version) will not be making an appearance.
A representative for Taylor Swift clarified to Billboard that neither Matty Healy nor the band The 1975 will be featured on this album. This statement puts to rest the intense rumors circulating in UK broadsheets, which suggested that the provocative frontman of the British band would be part of the revamped edition of Taylor Swift’s 2014 album.
The duo, who were rumored to have had a brief romantic involvement earlier this year, though neither of them officially confirmed it, were seen exiting New York’s Electric Lady Studios in Greenwich Village back in May. This sighting followed Matty Healy’s attendance at three of Taylor Swift’s Nashville Eras Tour performances earlier in that month. As of th time of this report, there has been no response from a spokesperson for The 1975 or Matty Healy regarding this matter.

Last month, Swift made an announcement about “1989”, revealing to her fans in a post that the album, set to release on October 27, holds a special place in her heart. This album, which includes popular songs like “Bad Blood,” “Shake It Off” and “Blank Space,” played a pivotal role in changing her life in countless ways.
She also expressed her enthusiasm for this re-recorded collection which previously spent 11 weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 chart. Swift shared that, to be completely honest, this is her most beloved re-recording project because of the remarkable 5 tracks from the Vault. She could not believe these tracks were ever left unreleased but assured fans that they would not have to wait much longer to hear them.
What is 1989 (Taylor’s Version) all about?
1989 (Taylor’s Version) marks Taylor Swift’s fourth re-recorded album release since she introduced her re-recording project in 2019. His three previous re-recorded albums all achieved significant success, with “Fearless (Taylor’s Version)” spending two weeks at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 in 2021, “Red (Taylor’s Version)” securing a week at the summit in 2021, and “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version)” claiming two weeks at the top earlier this year.

Two songs from the re-recorded version of “1989” have already been released to the public. “Wildest Dreams (Taylor’s Version)” made its debut on TikTok in November 2021, while “This Love (Taylor’s Version)” was featured in the trailer for the Amazon Prime series “The Summer I Turned Pretty”.
In a recent announcement, Swift revealed that there will be an exclusive bonus track included in the tangerine edition of the “1989” vinyl. This vinyl edition, along with three Deluxe Poster Edition SCd containing unique photos, will be exclusively available for purchase at Target stores and can be pre-ordered. Additionally, the re-release of “1989” will come in other vinyl versions, such as aquamarine green and yellow “Sunrise Boulevard”, which are not exclusive to Target.
