Fukuma and Varvana’s fierce duel continues in the upcoming Mato Seihei no Slave Chapter 121. Fans are on the edge of their seats, wondering who will come out victorious in this battle.
Varvana is extremely angry because Fukuma impersonated her beloved idol, Kyouka, without permission. This offense to Kyouka enrages Varvana so much that she calls for holy war against Fukuma. Inside the odd cathedral filled with Kyouka memorabilia, Varvana believes the statue of Kyouka and its sword have miraculous powers that will help her defeat the disrespectful Fukuma.
Fukuma thinks the cathedral looks silly but also recognizes the sword looks dangerous and could slice her up. She wants to break Varvana’s religious zeal and make her worship new thunder gods instead of obsessed with Kyouka. But Varvana says it’s hopeless because of her unshakable faith in Kyouka’s strength and training.
The two warriors clash. Varvana uses her icy powers but can’t overtake Fukuma’s lightning-fast projectile attacks. Fukuma is able to dodge Varvana’s strikes since she sees them coming.
Though Varvana is enthusiastic about Kyouka to the point of worship, her attacks can’t connect with tricky Fukuma.
Fukuma makes a decoy version of herself to distract Varvana, who destroys the fake Fukuma. But Varvana realizes it’s only a hollow copy and that Fukuma made it to sneak attack while she was distracted.
With both of their battle tricks now exposed in the odd cathedral, the real one-on-one duel is about to kick off.
Recap and Review
Despite the raging holy war, Varvana recognizes that Fukuma is a formidable foe. Fukuma knows that even empowered Varvana cannot defeat her, so she is only wary of the statue.
Fukuma believes the sword the statue wields has conceptual power. She could easily win if she could reabsorb the power split amongst her clones. But that is not possible. Now Fukuma understands why Shikoku advised assassinating targets. The Mato Defense Corps’ might cannot be underestimated.
To prove she has no allies, Fukuma shows Varvana a gruesome card picturing Chief Tsukiyono. Fukuma tells Varvana it is just the two of them fighting alone, warrior versus warrior.
Varvana will need more than religious fervor to overcome Fukuma, who remains confident despite her power being divided. The key to victory will be neutralizing the statue’s mystical sword. Their one-on-one duel has only begun as Fukuma warns she has no reinforcements coming.
Fukuma shows Varvana that the gruesome card in her hand is the last one containing anything. She explains if the card gets destroyed, Chief Tsukiyono’s actual body will come bursting out. By revealing this card, Fukuma attempts to portray herself as honest and forthright.
She tells Varvana she’ll defeat her without pretending or holding anything back. Fukuma is strategizing her next attack, which will be so revolting that she will have a hard time with it.
Varvana makes clear that Fukuma is her number one enemy who absolutely must be taken down. She swears she’ll succeed in this battle for the sake of her beloved Kyouka, no matter what.
Spoilers and Expectations
Fukuma feels confident she’ll finish off Varvana with an ultimate strike of godly power. Both warriors have now declared the other their top foe, who must be eliminated above all others.
Even as Fukuma tries acting virtuous and transparently, Varvana remains single-mindedly devoted to Kyouka and determined to prevail. With all the battle tricks and capabilities revealed between them, the true final showdown is about to take place.
