A sport that barely received any attention and did not spark any conversations among sports fans is now all set to get its documentary and the world’s entire attention. Tensions will be high, and the team will be under pressure, but they will have to train and push through this FIFA season not to disappoint fans at home.

Matildas: The World At Our Feet Plotline
Australia and New Zealand are all set to co-host the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup, and Australia’s home team could not be more pressurized. The whole of July and August, the world will have its eyes on the team and while the journey will be memorable for both the audience and the players, Katie Bender’s new documentary miniseries is set to make it even more special.
It is difficult to even fathom the amount of blood, sweat and tears the teams must have shed just for the ninety minutes on the field. But this documentary will take us backstage, to the part that is far from glamourous, to the struggles and hardships faced by the team, Matildas, with a special focus on Sam Kerr, and their crew’s sacrifices, and their coach, Tony Gustavsson, who is probably betting his life on the team and their game.
We start off with the 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup and the drama that had followed the team all the way to South Korea, then move to Ellie Carpenter‘s ACL injury and her recovery period, and the team trying to keep their mental up with the numerous consequent losses, all for the team to finally reach where they are.
