Ma-hui has returned to Woori’s house, and her first encounter with Maru was nothing short of dramatic. Maru the Dog has turned to Maru the little girl, which is something hard to explain, and that’s exactly what Woori goes through. A lot of lies and excuses manage to get Woori away from Ma-hui’s doubts, but she still fails to make Maru happy.
Maru has started to think that Ma-hui hates her, and The most dramatic part is that Maru has concluded that she has to get stronger to get rid of all the dumb humans. Is this the beginning of Maru’s Evil Arc?
The Chapter opens up with Ma-hui visiting Woori’s house so that she can meet Maru, the dog, but sadly for her, she gets greeted by Maru, the child. As Ma-hui isn’t aware that The Child and the Dog are the same entity, she is shocked. The shock is also partly because Woori has an unknown kid in her house.
Recap
Woori tries to make an excuse by saying that Maru is her little sister, but Ma-hui doesn’t buy it because she knows her all too well. Maru argues that she is Woori’s sister, which leads to her having a heated argument with Ma-hui. Woori couldn’t think of anything to stop Maru and Ma-hui from arguing, so she just said that Maru is her little cousin.
Woori says that Maru will only stay with her for a little while, but Ma-hui immediately counters her by asking about the whereabouts of Maru’s parents. Woori feels at a loss for words as she didn’t expect Ma-hui to act so quickly.
Woori tries to find an excuse to avoid getting under suspicion when suddenly an insurance advertisement pops up on the television. She immediately takes this opportunity and tells Ma-hui that Maru’s parents are currently hospitalized so she’s staying with her till they get better.
Ma-hui sympathizes with Maru’s condition and then asks Woori about her name. Woori gets backed into a corner once again because she can’t just tell Ma-hui that her little cousin is named after her dog. Before Woori can come up with another excuse, Maru tells her name to Ma-hui on her own.
To resolve the issue once again, Woori says that she named her dog after her little cousin. Ma-hui says that she brought some food for Maru(The Dog), but it’s too bad that he’s not here now. Maru(The Girl) says that she’s right beside her, but Ma-hui tells her that she brought the food for the “real Maru.”
Maru gets deeply affected by not being recognized as the “real Maru.” She remembers all the moments she spent with Ma-hui and how she was even called “the best dog in the world.” Ma-hui also tells Woori to send the food she brought to her parent’s house so that the real Maru can eat it.
Maru gets sad, and so she slowly walks away while crying. Woori explains that Ma-hui doesn’t hate Maru. She’s just not used to Maru being a human. Woori then turns to Ma-hui and tells her that Maru is crying because she keeps referring to the real Maru while ignoring the little Maru in front of her.
Ma-hui apologizes and says that she’s not very good with kids. One Person is overly dramatic, while the other is just dumb. What a weird situation Woori has got herself into. Woori suddenly gets an idea, and so she asks both Ma-hui and Maru to go out to eat something at a restaurant.
When everything fails, food wins. This is what Woori is trying to achieve by getting both Maru and Woori to go out and eat together, but let’s see what happens. Maru wipes her tears and prepares to go out when she finds Ma-hui holding a Frisbee. The Frisbee reminds Maru of the time when she used to play with Ma-hui, and she was happy.
Maru’s happiness instantly turns into despair when Ma-hui puts the Frisbee along with the food she brought so that she can give everything to the real Maru. Woori also prepares to leave, but she suddenly notices that something is wrong. The atmosphere of the room has once again turned gloomy and depressing.
Woori turns around and finds Maru barely holding back her tears while leaning on the wall. Maru wonders if Ma-hui truly hates her or if she’s just dumb.
Her thought process gets even more complicated as the moments go by as she concludes that all humans in the world are dumb, and so the only way to never get hurt by these humans is to get stronger—a pretty weird conclusion to a simple argument.
