Hayeon apologizes for making Gayeon suffer due to her family issues. She acknowledges that someone as talented as Gayeon could have achieved more without being dragged into Hayeon’s problems.
But Gayeon reassures her that she genuinely wants to be Hayeon’s bodyguard. She’s willing to wait until Hayeon inherits the company.
Their conversation provides insight into the complex relationship between these two friends and the conflicts Hayeon faces with her family’s expectations.

But Jihan reassures Diego to go ahead and order whatever cuisine he wants without worrying about price.

When Diego finally tastes the sizzling, high-quality Korean barbeque beef, he is so overwhelmed by its incredible flavor that he nearly cries.
Jihan warmly encourages Diego to relax and feel comfortable opening up to him as a friend. Diego admits he deeply resents how the futuristic Battle Net sport has reduced soccer’s popularity worldwide because otherwise, he would not be living such an impoverished, pathetic life currently.
The contrast emerges between independent Hayeon’s pursuit of gambling wins to free herself versus Diego feeling constrained by forces outside of his control that reduced his Soccer career.
While the women place bets on the upcoming competition, Jihan compassionately tries to provide Diego some simple joy and comfort in the pleasures of good food amidst Diego’s ongoing struggles.
