The “Queen of Thanksgiving,” Martha Stewart, has some surprising plans for this year’s celebration.
In an interview with “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Stewart revealed that she decided to “cancel” the Thanksgiving meal she had been planning.
She said she felt overwhelmed by the customary turkey-centric festivities and that many guests had canceled, which had an impact on her decision. Regarding her holiday schedule, she admitted, “I gave up Thanksgiving.” We’re not doing Thanksgiving, and I told my chef friend over the phone after nine guests canceled due to illness.

Martha Stewart also mentioned that she had cooked fourteen turkeys for her television program.
Kelly Clarkson said she was pretty sure she was done with it, and Stewart agreed, adding that she had to cook a fifteenth turkey for a talk show appearance she had coming up. “I am turkeyed out,” she exclaimed, clearly exhausted from all the turkey cooking.
Stewart revealed her revised plan, which called for her to visit about five different friends’ homes and sample a variety of dishes, rather than hosting Thanksgiving dinner herself. Stewart laughed when Clarkson mentioned that her friends might be under stress, to which she replied, “I hope so.”

For many years, Thanksgiving has been connected to the lifestyle expert. She was crowned the Thanksgiving queen the year before when she made an appearance on the “Today” show.
The title was engraved on a scepter and sash that were given to her. A lot of talk was going around during this appearance about Mariah Carey being the Christmas queen because of her famous song, “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
Stewart said, “I do believe that Thanksgiving is a very important time of year, and despite all other ideas that, you know, we skip over Thanksgiving, you never, ever can.” about the significance of the holiday.

In 2020, Martha Stewart said that she had prepared “60 Thanksgivings, at least, maybe more” in her lifetime during another appearance on “Today.” She ascribed this to her 19-year-old marriage and her 20-year-old first Thanksgiving dinner.
Stewart has kindly offered advice on how to make a proper Thanksgiving dinner in the past, even though this year she is breaking with the custom.
In a holiday edition of her digital publication Martha-Logue from the previous year, she offered thorough guidance on choosing the “perfect turkey.”
Her suggestions were to order a “free-range, hormone-free turkey,” estimate the amount of turkey each guest at 1.5 pounds, and place your order well in advance.
Her advice was to “make sure to read your recipe thoroughly before starting,” highlighting the significance of having all necessary supplies and equipment ready to cook.
Stewart reaffirmed the importance of preparation in an interview with Williams-Sonoma, especially when it comes to meal prep. She noted that to spend more time with family on Thanksgiving, roasting or reheating is the main focus rather than chopping and measuring.
She offered the following advice about decorations: “Flower décor always looks beautiful in the cozy colors of fall.” A variety of pumpkins, gourds, and cut flowers should be bought ahead of time. Make your arrangements and put them in the fridge up to two days in advance.”
Having pre-sliced pie pieces ready for guests to take home was another piece of advice she offered. “Decorate with wheat sprigs, dried or fake berries, and raffia,” she suggested, stressing the importance of remembering the fork.
“Choosing a buffet style when hosting a large gathering is the most practical, and creating an impressive buffet is easier than you might think,” she told Parade in a 2018 interview. “Make sure the room is well-equipped for your holiday guests’ comfort,” she advised hosts of overnight guests.
Select sets of fluffy towels, a plush comforter, and sheets made of premium cotton or soft flannel. For afternoon naps, place a warm throw on the bed as well.”
