Lifetime’s Married At First Sight US took an unexpected turn this season after Michael’s marriage broke off even before he got a chance to know his wife. This week, the Denver couples will be spending some alone time together while also trying to work through different perspectives and other relationship issues.
MAFS US is a relationship/dating series that centers on couples who marry their partner on the first day of meeting them. A set of relationship experts, consisting of Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Calvin, and Dr. Pia, try to match singles according to their profiles and personalities and get them to marry on their first meeting.
The entertaining relationship experiment features a lavish vacation for a Honeymoon followed by other tasks that reveal more about the couples and check if they’d be compatible outside the experiment. Once their time on the show comes to an end, the couples will have to decide if they’d like to continue the marriage or end it.
Married At First Sight (US) Season 17 Episode 11: Recap
While Becca and Austin are getting to know each other by spending time under the same roof, Clare and Cameron don’t seem to be on the same page at all. Brennan is still surprised by the fact that Emily would bring up therapy so early in their marriage. It may be a new thing for Brennan, but Emily feels going to therapy would help them sort out their differences and better understand each other’s needs.
Orion Martzloff and Lauren’s relationship gets worse with time, and now, neither of them feels they are the perfect match for each other. They tried to make things work, but nothing happened. It was better for Orion and Lauren to separate instead of prolonging their sadness. Lauren is in tears to see her marriage fail this way but knows ending it would be good in the long run.
The rest of the couple prepare for their one-month anniversary. Emily reveals that therapy had helped her a lot when she was struggling in life, so she felt it would be better for their relationship to keep it healthy and stress-free.
Dr. Pia Holec, Dr. Pepper Schwartz, and Pastor Calvin Roberson meet up to discuss what would happen to Michael Shiakallis now that his partner has refused to marry him. While much is not known about Chloe Brown, she was supposed to be Michael’s perfect match but ended up leaving the show on the day of the marriage by claiming she wasn’t ready to marry a stranger.
Becca & Austin, Emily & Brennan, and the rest of the couples leave for a fun and romantic time at the ice rink to mark one month since they’ve been married on this Lifetime show. The group later meets up for a dinner party where some of them target couples on sensitive topics.
