The Meta CEO, 40, marked the new year on January 1 by posting an Instagram photo of himself and Chan, 39. In the image, the couple is smiling warmly, with Zuckerberg holding a glass of champagne or wine. “Happy New Year and here’s to even bigger things in 2025,” he captioned the post.
The couple, who are parents to three daughters—Maxima (9), August (7), and Aurelia (2)—had plenty of highlights to celebrate in 2024. Zuckerberg turned 40 in May and enjoyed a memorable birthday bash planned by Chan, surrounded by family and close friends.
In August, Zuckerberg showcased his appreciation for Chan by unveiling a commissioned statue in her honor. He shared the gesture on Instagram, humorously captioning it, “Bringing back the Roman tradition of making sculptures of your wife.” The photo featured Chan standing in a bathrobe, mug in hand, in front of the impressive statue.
The pair’s enduring love story began in college when they met at Harvard in 2003. They tied the knot in May 2012 after nearly a decade of dating. Zuckerberg reflected on their first meeting in a Facebook post on November 13, 2023, commemorating 20 years since their first date.
“20 years since our first date,” he wrote. “We met at a going-away party my friends threw for me in college when they thought I might get kicked out. I asked her out and said we’d need to go out soon since I might only have a few days left. Later, I started Facebook, we got married, and now we have three wonderful girls. What a wild ride.”
Chan also shared a tribute for their “dateaversary” in 2023, expressing her love for Zuckerberg. “20 years since our first date. He still makes me laugh all the time, and we’re never short of wild adventures. And now we have three little ladies riding along with us,” she wrote on Instagram.
From their beginnings as college sweethearts to raising a family, Zuckerberg and Chan continue to celebrate life’s milestones together, looking ahead to another eventful year.
