Manako Premieres Unleashed - A Second Self-Image Song Inspired By Anime

At the age of 16, Manako emerged as a prominent figure in 2012 as a member of DANCEROID’s third term, a popular net dance idol group on Nico Nico Douga. Following the group’s disbandment, she shifted gears in 2014 to become the lead vocalist for the dance-rock band Q’ulle. Her career in acting and other talents began to thrive significantly in the fall of 2020.

She debuted the music video for her latest song, “Unleashed,” on her official YouTube channel. She describes her latest work as “a self-image song” and that it draws inspiration from Naoya Matsumoto’s manga series and anime adaptation, Kaiju No. 8.

Kaiju No.8 It takes place in a world plagued by monstrous creatures known as Kaiju, causing frequent disasters. To combat these threats, Japan established the Anti-Kaiju Defense Force, with Kaiju classified based on its strength. The story follows childhood friends Kafka Hibino and Mina Ashiro, who pledged to join the Defense Force together.

Kafka’s encounter with a parasitic creature grants him the ability to transform into a Kaiju, leading to his designation as “Kaiju No. 8” as he navigates the challenges of his newfound powers while keeping his secret from the Defense Force. “Unleashed” marks Manako’s second self-image song, following “Precious” released back in December 2023

Manako expressed this in the description of the YouTube video. “As in the previous project, I created a song with respect to my favorite anime, and I enjoyed myself every day while creating this song as well!” She added, “The music video was also made cooler than ever, inspired by the image of Kaiju No. 8, so please enjoy the new visual of Manako!”
