SSS-Class Revival Hunter Anime Confirmed for January 2027 on Crunchyroll

The popular Korean webcomic and web novel is getting an anime adaptation, with Takeo Otsuka and Satoshi Hino leading the Japanese voice cast.

SSS-Class Revival Hunter is officially making the jump to anime, with the highly popular Korean webcomic and web novel set to premiere in January 2027. Crunchyroll has announced that it will stream the upcoming adaptation worldwide outside Asia, while also confirming availability in several Asian territories, including India, Indonesia, Singapore, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

Alongside the announcement, the production committee revealed the anime’s first teaser trailer and visual, offering fans an early look at protagonist Gongja Kim and the mysterious Sword Emperor. The adaptation will follow Gongja’s transformation from an overlooked F-rank Hunter into a powerful figure after he obtains an unusual S-rank ability.

The Japanese cast, creative team, and animation studio have also been revealed, giving fans a clearer picture of what to expect from the highly anticipated SSS-Class Revival Hunter anime.

SSS-Class Revival Hunter Anime Cast, Story and Staff

The story takes place in a mysterious tower filled with monsters, where Hunters risk their lives in pursuit of wealth and glory. Gongja Kim begins as a weak F-rank Hunter who spends his days envying the Flame Emperor, the Hunter who has reached the top of the hierarchy.

His circumstances change when he encounters the Sword Emperor and obtains a rare S-rank skill. However, the extraordinary ability comes with a dangerous condition: Gongja must die for the skill to activate.

The first teaser gives viewers a glimpse of Gongja’s initial journey, including the mysterious card that appears before him and the Sword Emperor observing from behind. The visual and trailer are designed to introduce the central characters and supernatural world ahead of the January 2027 premiere.

Takeo Otsuka will provide the Japanese voice of Gongja Kim, while Satoshi Hino will voice the Sword Emperor. The production is being directed by Hiroaki Sakurai, with Sayuri Oba handling the series script and Takahiro Yoshimatsu responsible for character designs.

STUDIO fu is producing the animation. The series is based on the original SSS-Class Revival Hunter webcomic and web novel, which readers can access through platforms including Tapas and KakaoPage.

Crunchyroll’s announcement makes the anime one of the notable upcoming adaptations for fans of Korean webcomic-inspired fantasy series. More information about the production and its release plans is expected ahead of the January 2027 debut.
