In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 12, fans are introduced to the Thorn Soul Bulb, an entity that at first glance seemed similar to the Chakra Fruit derived from a God Tree but was later confirmed to be a separate entity.
This development in the manga may have been foreshadowed by the lore surrounding the Chakra Fruit in Naruto. Specifically, Madara Uchiha’s explanation to Hashirama Senju about the Chakra Fruit’s history closely mirrors current events in Boruto.
In Naruto Shippuden, Madara explained that the God Tree was worshipped as a sacred pillar, and every millennium, it produced a Chakra Fruit that was never to be eaten. However, a princess named Kaguya Otsutsuki consumed the fruit to gain its chakra to win a war.
Kaguya later gave birth to sons who inherited her chakra. Subsequently, the Divine Tree became sentient and transformed into the Ten Tails, seeking to reclaim its stolen chakra. This rampage was stopped by Kaguya’s child, Hagoromo Otsutsuki.
Hashirama was puzzled about how Madara knew this lore, to which Madara revealed that he had read it on the Uchiha Stone Tablet. According to a theory by a Boruto fan on Reddit, this explanation might have foreshadowed the events in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex.
The theory draws parallels between Kaguya’s use of the Divine Tree’s Chakra and Code’s use of the Ten Tails’ pieces to create Claw Grimes to fight his enemies. These Claw Grimes then became sentient God Trees, similar to the Divine Tree’s evolution into the Ten Tails.
In Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 12, Jura attacks Boruto and his allies to retrieve Hidari’s Thorn Soul Bulb, echoing the Divine Tree’s quest to reclaim its chakra. While Hagoromo Otsutsuki previously stopped the Ten Tails, it appears that in Boruto, “Boruto Otsutsuki” will be the one to resolve the conflict.
Madara’s knowledge came from the Uchiha Stone Tablet, and similarly, Boruto and Kashin Koji in Boruto: Two Blue Vortex seem to have foreseen future events, as evidenced by Boruto’s hints at a looming disaster if Code and the Claw Grimes aren’t stopped.
Additionally, one of Boruto’s toads reading a tablet suggests that Masashi Kishimoto, the manga creator, either foreshadowed these events long ago or aimed to recreate Naruto’s lore in the sequel manga.
