Williams is back with a bang in her latest album, “Stories from a Rock n Roll Heart.” The album showcases Lucinda Williams at her best, and her new single, “New York Comeback,” is a shining example of her talent. The song was written by Lucinda Williams, Tom Overby, and Jesse Malin and featured incredible backing vocals by Patti Scialfa and Bruce Springsteen.
2023 is a special year for Lucinda Williams as she celebrated her 70th birthday this January, marking a milestone in her life. Apart from this, she also released a long-awaited memoir titled, “Don’t Tell Anybody The Secrets I Told You.”

The last couple of years were full of great turns and turmoil in Lucinda’s life. In 2020, she faced a series of unfortunate events. First, a tornado damaged her newly-bought home in Nashville.
Shortly after, the COVID lockdown began, causing further distress in her daily life and plans. Then in November of the same year, Lucinda experienced a stroke that resulted in partial impairment of her motor skills on the left side of her body. This setback forced her to learn how to walk and, unfortunately, her ability to play the guitar.

“Stories From a Rock n Roll Heart” is a captivating album made up of 10 melodic songs that showcase Williams’ strength and determination to create music regardless of the challenges she had faced. The album begins with the gritty and energetic track “Let’s Get The Band Back Together,” setting the tone for a musical journey filled with edgy rockers like “Rock N Roll Heart” and “This Is Not My Town.”
Williams also plays homage to rock legends Tom Petty (Stolen Moments) and Replacements’ co-founder Bob Stinson (Hum’s Liquor), to whom she dedicated the album.

Lucinda Williams is a renowned American singer and solo guitarist who made her mark in the music in the music industry with her albums Ramblin’ on My Mind (1979) and Happy Woman Blues (1980). However, despite the positive critics, the album did not receive much attention from the public or radio.
It was in 1988 that Williams experienced a breakthrough with the release of her third self-titled album, ” Lucinda Williams”.
