Love Song for Illusion aired its first episode on 2nd January, 2024. Based on a webtoon written by Vanziun under the same name, the K-drama tells a heart fluttering story of Crown Prince Sajo Hyun (Park Ji Hoon) and Yeon Wol (Hong Ye Ji), who’s an undercover assassin named Gye Ra with a mission to kill him.
These two arch enemies with completely opposite personalities are brought together by fate, in the most unlikely way possible. Gye Ra becomes enchanted by the Crown Prince and can’t help but fall for his charm. Problems arise when their relationship begins to grow, bringing enemies from both sides.
Love Song for Illusion Episode 5 will be releasing next week! The upcoming episode of the K-drama will continue with Gye Ra, who regained her memories after being attacked. Gye Ra was also seen hugging someone, who’s identity will be revealed soon.
Moreover, the viewers are still curious on who actually went out from the Hall of Spirits and who all are still captive in Bonghamsal. With the progress of the episodes, watchers of Love Song for Illusion are starting to like Sajo Hyun’s character much more with his unexpected quirks.

Sajo Hyun is the Crown Prince of the state, and known for being an intelligent being. Despite his rather cheerful and charming personality, Hyun had problems of his own which were deeply surrounding his father Sajo Seung, the King.
He would often oppress Hyun from doing what he loved, which left a deep wound in his heart. Hiding his identity as the crown prince, Hyun would work at a boutique downtown as a fashion designer.
He used the alias of Ak Hee and would interact with the people downtown to escape from the trauma he faced as a child.
However, Hyun had a strange problem that stopped him from getting close to people- he would feel immense pain whenever he tried to form any sort of physical contact between another person.
While strolling around the streets as Ak Hee, the Crown Prince meets Yeon Wol. Like Hyun, Yeon Wol too was hiding under a different name Gye Ra. She had long planned to kill the King and his family for the pain they had caused her.
Yeon Wol was a descendant of the Yeon dynasty, and the only living daughter of Yeon Poong Sak. Under her alias Gye Ra, Yeong Wol dedicated her life to become an assassin, in hopes of avenging her family.
However, things take a turn when Gye Ra falls into a trap and is knocked unconscious. When Gye Ra wakes up the next day, she has no memory of who she is and what she was doing there.
With one thing leading to another, Gye Ra finds herself standing in the royal court. The Crown Prince takes her in as his concubine, and the two of them slowly develop feelings for one another. This doesn’t please Geum Hwa, as it risked her safetly as the wife of the Crown Prince.
The reality of their identities is still unknown, but will Hyun and Yeon Wol be able to still love each other after finding out one is after the other’s neck?
