I don’t know how to feel, I see both perspectives but let’s just also talk about episode 18. I’m stressed, I was just getting comfortable with Shaq and Tanya, but you know things happen. But I think they will get back together in the next episode, and everything will be alright.
Ron thinks that he’s a trailblazer by exploring other options, and doesn’t understand why he’s getting hateful because now everybody is following his lead. When I think of Ron the jokes just flood my mind, so let me not stick on him for too long otherwise I might say something that is very insensitive. I’m just going to say it’s the way you went about it, period. The Villa has tried to tell you that if it doesn’t sink in maybe then we cannot help you.
So curveball of the season, Kai confesses he has feelings for Olivia, and not only is it like a new revelation, it’s something he’s been feeling for a few weeks now. But then Olivia says that they should have explored that two weeks ago, and now they have a good friendship going on. So all of a sudden y’all have this hidden connection that you want to explore, that has been brewing under the surface for some time now?
Because it sounds to me like you guys are both realizing that your first pick ain’t gonna pick you first. Maybe that’s what you’re trying to explore. “Oh, I like Tom what doesn’t he like me? I like Samie why doesn’t she like me? But sure, go ahead like each other, all right.
Love Island Season 9 Episode 18 Recap
Before diving into Love Island Season 9 Episode 19, let’s quickly recap the previous Episode. So, Olivia had a date with Casey, honestly nothing to talk about there. And then Jordan’s date with Samie was basically the Identical date he had with Tanyel. Listen Samie said “I don’t want to be tied down. I see that you’re ready for marriage, you’re ready for kids, you’re ready to settle down and build. Not me, not now. I’m gonna give you five years, do my little gallivanting and then we could talk about it. Not even we’re gonna do it then, we’re just gonna talk about it”.
Samie was not having it, I do feel like they’re not like super drawn to each other but it could be something that would develop over time. But as of right now, no ma’am, she doesn’t want it. I’m realizing that Jordan is kind of hard to read. So his last date was with Olivia and she was kind of fishing as she always does and he wasn’t really giving a straight answer. He’s not really letting on too tough that he’s into her.
Jordan does have a calm personality, so of course, he’s not going to be like the guys in the Villa who just foam at the mouth at women. So he is showing interest, he literally said “yeah, you intrigue me”. But it’s not that overwhelming like “yo, as soon as I came in, I was like that’s the girl I want to go for. I really like this and that and whatever”.
He did say more of that to the guys. But on the date, I don’t know if I’m choosing not to see it, it just didn’t feel like excited. He was saying “I’m interested”, and he was saying “I like your Vibe”, but I wasn’t feeling it. Maybe I just don’t want to see it because it’s Olivia.
Casey’s last date was with Jessie. And Jessie was like “oh my gosh yeah I’m so ready to be a wife. But not yours though”. And on their date, this girl just shut down this connection immediately. At first, she was like “yeah it’s early days with Will”. And then she was like “I could put in a good word for you for the other girls. They’re amazing women out there, I’m sure one of them is gonna like you”.
And even Casey clocked it and was like “I’m being friend zone, Gotcha”. If Jesse is playing a game, if we are still gonna be skeptical of the girl, she’s playing a damn good one, she’s really committed to this role. You might as well give her the 50K just for this performance alone.
Shaq And Ron Cool Things Off
In the evening, of course, Lana was Casey’s first date, he was into her, and she was into him. And she’s just trying to reiterate “sir, I’m into you”. Lana is very giddy around Casey and she’s saying that he ticks all the boxes. But what are these boxes? Because when they speak, all they talk about “are you attracted to me? Do you want to pursue me? Is anybody else sparking your interest? I’m getting nothing about real life with these two. I’m just so confused but okay girl if he checks your boxes then okay.
Love Island Season 9 Episode 17 ended with the Shaq and Ron blowout. And Ron decides in this episode that he is going to apologize for his actions and even Shaq apologizes as well. I’m not surprised at all that Shaq did apologize, he is the king of accountability when it comes to the most part. He did say “I might have inserted myself too much in your situation”.
But to be honest, any time that he has spoken against Ron, I feel like something needed to be said. Maybe not with the Vim that he had, but it definitely needed to be said. Ron to me, I feel like still don’t fully understand where he went wrong in how he dealt with Lana. So he’s not gonna get it at this point, honestly, there’s no point bringing it up again. Shaq you go about your business because clearly, you got your own situation you got to deal with.
Spencer And Misunderstanding The Situation
Spencer takes it upon himself to take Olivia to the side and decides that he is not feeling the spark. Bro, she wasn’t trying to give you any spark. She wasn’t giving you any attention, he didn’t want your time, he didn’t want your effort. Of course, you don’t feel the spark, because that’s intentional. But okay, whatever helps you sleep at night.
Jordan and Ellie have a conversation, and again he’s kind of hard to read. But he’s letting Ellie know like “oh I see that you’re a flirty kind of girl”. And I’m just like “Ellie is this how you want to come off. Do you want to just be the Flirty Girl that nobody really takes seriously? I just feel like at some point, don’t you want somebody to look at you and be like “yeah I actually want to pursue this girl”, instead of them like “oh yeah that’s the Flirty Girl”. I don’t think she minds much, this whole Villa is young anyway, so there’s no problem being the Flirty Girl, do your thing and that’s fine.
Kai and Olivia go up to the terrace so that they can further explore this connection that has taken both of them by surprise. I find it so ironic and hilarious that yesterday I literally said that a specific type of girl needed to be with Kai for it to make sense, and I’m going to leave it there. So now that Kai is feeling this, you know, “strong connection” with Olivia, he decides to tell Samie “hey yes and no”.
Bro you and Spencer are giving the same energy. Samie wasn’t trying to be with you. And Samie really couldn’t care less, she’s like “yeah this was a mutual decision”. I really think Samie was never gonna lock things off because she just thought “okay maybe this thing will fizzle out”. I’m sure she was jumping with joy in her head that Kai was the one to bite the bullet because she probably was just gonna let it die and never speak about it again. Now we will discuss when will Episode 19 of Love Island Season 9 will release.

Love Island Season 9 Episode 19 will release on 3 February 2023 on ITV2. At the end of episode 18, we saw that Shaq was quite mad with Tanya about what happened in the Kissing challenge in Love Island Season 9 Episode 18.
But don’t worry, they will make things right in the next episode. We also saw in episode 18 that Kai and Olivia were talking about exploring things and they will explore things in the next episode. Kai and Olivia might even share a kiss. Maya is also returning to the show and will tell the islanders to gather around for something.
