Love Island’s 11th season is making its return on ITV2, with singletons sharing a villa in Majorca to find love and avoid public eliminations, all for a chance to win the £50,000 prize.
The show’s newest lineup of contestants, including a sweet salesman and a personal shopper, has been revealed for its upcoming season starting on June 3rd at 9pm on ITV1, ITV2, and ITVX simultaneously.
After the premiere, the show will continue on ITV2 and ITVX. Fans can expect the usual mix of chats, romantic entanglements, and the famous catchphrase “It is what it is.”
In a post on the programme’s official account on X/Twitter, a picture of presenter Maya Jama dressed in red with a flaming heart in the background can be seen with the caption:
“We’re coming in hot”, alongside a flame emoji.
“I’ll be sat,” said another fan, while one student lamented: “Really, just when I’m starting to write exams.”
It’s understandable that some fans might hope for a shake-up in the show’s format to keep things fresh and exciting. Variety in characters and unexpected twists can indeed add a lot of intrigue to the viewing experience.
“Let’s hope it was better than the last get some interesting people in, do good challenges. Or this will be the last I see,” threatened one viewer.
Others were even less impressed as they hit out:
“Abysmal show. Get it in the bin.”
Still, its faithful followers were ready and waiting for a summer of new drama.
“I don’t know how and why Love Island just does it for me. Pure giddiness,” said one fan.
It’s great to see Love Island implementing changes to promote more responsible social media use by having contestants pause their accounts during the show.
Additionally, providing training on inclusive language and behavior around various aspects of diversity is an important step towards creating a more inclusive and respectful environment both on and off the screen.
