Lonzo Ball, the Chicago Bulls point guard, recently discussed a significant revelation on his podcast: he underwent surgery involving a donated body part to salvage his basketball career.
In the latest episode of his podcast, Ball detailed his struggle with a knee injury, shedding light on the lengthy process of his return to the court. The former Los Angeles Lakers player revealed that he had torn his meniscus multiple times, leaving him with no meniscus left and bone-on-bone friction.
Ball explained on The WAE Show, “I had to get new meniscus from a donor, I had to get a bone allograft, and I had to get some new cartilage put in as well.”
Lonzo Ball Is Still Planning To Make A Purse
Despite the challenging journey, Ball expressed readiness to resume playing, although the Bulls have not disclosed his return timeline.
Despite his absence from the court since 2022, Ball has secured a significant salary for the upcoming season, reaffirming his commitment to the Bulls. His impressive performance during the 2021/22 season, averaging 13.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game, highlights his potential impact on the team.
As Ball looks forward to the 2024/25 season, only time will reveal if he’s cleared to return to action.
