The following information contains several spoilers for the series Locke & Key Ending.
Locke & Key Comics Ending Explained
Locke & Key comics follow the tales of the Locke family, Tyler, Kinsey, Bode, and their mother Nina, once they’ve moved into their ancestral home, The Keyhouse, after the vicious murder of the children’s father. The Keyhouse holds several magical abilities which turn out to be linked to the death of their father. The murderer of Mr. Locke, Sam Lesser, is convinced by the comic’s antagonist to go after the rest of the Locke family. The Locke siblings discover the magic of their home and the secrets lurking around them. The volumes take the readers on a rollercoaster ride of balanced sentimentality and excitement meanwhile managing to keep the audience on edge, rooting for the characters and leaving people eagerly awaiting what happens next.
In Volume 6, Locke & Key’s main antagonist, Dodge, looks for several keys with magical properties and ends up possessing the youngest Locke sibling, Bode, which causes his spirit to travel around as a ghost. When Dodge is killed, Bode is also assumed dead. Bode’s cremation made it impossible for the readers to ever see him again. Or, so it seemed. The painful goodbye of Bode and the endless possibilities of his spirit keeps the readers hopeful.
How accurate is the Netflix Show?
Locke & Key aired on Netflix in 2020, after over a decade of comics publishing. The Netflix drama stars Connor Jessup, Emilia Jones, Darby Stanchfield, Jackson Robert Scott, and Laysla De Oliveira in titular roles. The premises of the show remains the same as in the comic. However, after the airing of three seasons, it is clear to the OG fans that several of the comic’s plots important to the character development have been removed from the TV’s storyline.
Fans called the comics much more entertaining and darker than the Locke & Key tv show. Another reason for such a response is the tight-knit and detailed narration of the story and in-depth analysis of the characters in the Locke & Key comics. For readers, it is always unfortunate to see the missed details from the original works in the adaptions. Locke & Key has not yet been renewed for season 4.

Revival of Bode Locke And A Possibility Of Redemption Of Dodge
At the end of the Locke & Key Volume 6 Alpha and Omega, readers can meet their lovable Bode Locke in the form of a bird. Bode’s spirit, which was left hanging without a body to return to, managed to possess a bird to help his brother out. Locke & Key ending shows Tyler creating the Alpha Key and hence succeeding to free Dodge’s spirit from a demon as well as getting a chance to say his goodbyes to his father.
Tyler’s kindness towards Dodge, as well as the tear-jerking scene between the father and son, have made the epilogue have a special place in the fans’ hearts. Tyler also used the Animal key to restore his little brother. Bode’s spirit body was then able to change into its true physical form and hence return to the living once more, bidding the audience goodbye. Still, Locke & Key continues as a new series by Joe Hill, titled World War Key, which stands as a prequel and a sequel to the main six volumes, which can be purchased from Amazon.
