Lies Hidden in My Garden Episode 2 Recap (Spoilers!)

Lies Hidden in My Garden Episode 2 opens with Sang Eun and Yoon Beom on their way to Joo Ran’s house to deliver a package allegedly from her husband. On their way, Joo Ran was at home freaking out about the dead body she had just dug out of her garden and was unable to figure out who it was and where it had come from.

When the bell rang, she immediately rushed to hide the hand of the corpse with a flower vase and opened it to Yeon Beom’s delivery. His arrival made Joo Ran more paranoid as she was afraid he would figure out that there was a dead body in her garden, but later became more suspicious of his actions when she noticed the way Yeon Beon was talking to her.

She went inside to call Jae Ho and ask about the delivery but realized Yeon Beon was nowhere to be seen. She, at first, was haunted by the thought that he might’ve found the body, but later saw him taking pictures of his house. He told her it was simply because he liked her home and told her to tell her husband he had invited her fishing tonight.

Later, when her husband came back from work, she told him about the dead body, and Jae Ho rushed to hide the body properly by covering it with more soil. When he finally met Joo Ran, he simply told her those were gardening gloves, and she had mistaken them for a dead body. At first, Joo Ran thought this was absurd, but the heavy medications she was taking for depression made her believe him.

Meanwhile, it comes back to the present, where Sang Eun receives a call telling her that Yeon Beom is dead. This is followed by a flashback scene where Yeon Beon is seen sending a message to Jae Ho changing the amount to 500 million won, with pictures of Joo Ran attached. The police begin their investigation into the murder of Yeon Beom, and Yoo Ran is more suspicious of her husband as the day Beom was murdered, Jae Ho was not home.

The episode ends on a cliffhanger with Joo Ran seeing a message on her husband’s phone of an unknown girl, who may have been the same girl Sang Eun finds on a girl’s phone to have been a rape victim orchestrated by Jae Ho. Yeon Beom had been blackmailing Jae Ho regarding it, which explained his demand for 500 million won.
