For the upcoming year, Leonardo DiCaprio has big plans. The actor, who turned 49 on November 11, talked with ABC News’ Chris Connelly during a segment on Tuesday’s Good Morning America.
He gave some behind-the-scenes looks at the making of his most recent film, Killers of the Flower Moon, which he co-starred in with Lily Gladstone. But when Connelly questioned DiCaprio about his goals for the big birthday coming up, he had another movie in mind.
An exclusive clip of the conversation, in which Connelly, 66, questioned DiCaprio about his objectives before turning 50 the following year, is provided by PEOPLE.
In response, DiCaprio said, “You know what? Just one more film,” suggesting that he would like to make a comeback to the big screen. “One more movie.”
Connelly and DiCaprio pondered the passing of time before the question. Connelly said, “You’re 49 years old,” with a playful jest. How in the world was that possible?” He, who spent 13 years covering movies for MTV News, had conducted numerous interviews with DiCaprio.
With a nostalgic “I have no idea,” DiCaprio replied. “We were talking about our first interview. That may have been 30 years ago.”
Leonardo DiCaprio is collaborating with Martin Scorsese
“Killers of the Flower Moon” is the latest project that DiCaprio and director Martin Scorsese have worked on together.
The film tells the true story of the Reign of Terror—a string of heinous murders that targeted Osage Nation members, who were the richest people in the world per capita in the 1920s—and is based on David Grann’s nonfiction book of the same name.
In the film, DiCaprio plays Ernest Burkhart, a white man who travels to Oklahoma and marries Mollie (played by Gladstone), a wealthy Osage woman.
Later, he gets caught up in a plot headed by his wealthy uncle William K. Hale, a cattle rancher (Robert De Niro), which involves killing her family members to obtain her valuable oil rights.
The gloomy movie has won praise from viewers and critics alike. Tom Gliatto of PEOPLE called it “the most sinister movie ever made about the West, and probably the most coldly pessimistic portrait of the American character since There Will Be Blood.”
Leonardo DiCaprio had a joyful time recently
In the meantime, DiCaprio appears to be leading a happy personal life. On November 11, he celebrated his recent birthday in style in Beverly Hills, surrounded by an impressive guest list that included Italian model Vittoria Ceretti and several famous friends.
DiCaprio and Ceretti, 25, allegedly behaved affectionately and kissed each other during the evening. Since August, the two have been romantically associated. Celebrities that attended DiCaprio’s birthday celebration included JAY-Z, Beyoncé, Snoop Dogg, Tobey Maguire, Taika Waititi, Axl Rose, and Lil Wayne.
According to the insider, DiCaprio was “raised and carried around the room” at one point during the late-night celebration, and the fun carried on into the early hours of the morning.
Fantasia Barrino is a pure Leonardo DiCaprio fan!
The Grammy winner Fantasia Barrino showed her appreciation for Leonardo DiCaprio at Variety’s Power of Women event in Los Angeles.
The 39-year-old Barrino briefly lost focus while accepting her prize, turned around, and said, “So I want to thank you… oh my God, is that Leonardo DiCaprio?” The audience laughed as she gestured at the 49-year-old Oscar winner, who was not on screen.
She gave a lighthearted apology, saying, “Sorry! Leave this in the movie. She said, “Hello, I love you!” and gave DiCaprio a wave before continuing. Later, in his speech, DiCaprio acknowledged Barrino and called her his “new best friend” before introducing Lily Gladstone, his co-star in Killers of the Flower Moon.
