In the previous chapter, we were given a rundown on events leading to people turning into Kobolds from the perspective of the guy with glasses, who was also the leader of the Yeongdeungpo group.

The guy with glasses, Shin, was one day greeted with a screen suddenly popping up in front of him, welcoming him into “Earth.” Initially, he was confused, but after thinking, he deduced that he was somehow thrust into the popular game Dream Side. At first, surviving was hard, but he slowly adapted to his current situation.

In the past, Shin was a veteran Dream Side player who had reached Lvl 200 in-game; however, just before he could get his register rewards, he was drafted into the army. But Shin wasn’t too worried as he was still experienced and believed he could at least survive. It was around this time that he met the Yeongdeungpo survivors group and ended up becoming their leader.

But their group’s lack of high-level players made clearing dungeons with difficulty ranked Normal or above impossible. However, around this time, a mysterious merchant started visiting the Yeongdeungpo station, bringing food, items, weapons, etc. And due to this man’s kindness, they could survive… at least that’s what they thought. But it turns out that the “Kind” merchant was a fraudster who used the group’s trust in him to make them sign a contract stating that if they failed to pay the money, they had to give up their bodies in return.

And what appeared after the merchants were the “Workers” who came to take their bodies and forcibly place their souls into the Kobolds. But this wasn’t the end as from then on the “Workers” kept coming every week to collect interest… their memories.

Hearing this, Seojuun was furious and asked Shin when the “Workers” were returning. Just then, a person turned Kobold rushes in, informing everyone about the “Workers” arrival. However, this time the Kobolds didn’t run away in fear. They were sick and tired of the regular torture they faced at the hands of the “Workers.” Expecting the “Workers” arrival, they were waiting in ambush, looking for an opportunity to kill them. And so, as soon their informer informed them about the “Workers” arrival, they grabbed their weapons and went to their respective hiding positions. However, no matter what weapons (arrows, grenades, traps) or tactics they used, they couldn’t even scratch him. And worse, the “Workers” caught hold of one of their group’s members and crushed his head, instantly killing him.

The chapter ends as Seojuun’s group, along with Shin’s group, gets ready to fight the crazed “Worker.”
