The Last Stand Plot Summary
The plot of The Last Stand revolves around Sheriff and culprits. Basically, it’s a crime thriller film with endless actions. Starting with Sheriff Ray Owens, an LAPD post holder, resigns in order to follow a tough mission. He was posted in the sleepy border town of Sommerton Junction, a small town in Arizona. In the same town, several crimes were registered. High officials were constantly trying to catch the culprit. Mayor and vintage arms collector Lewis was facing tough times in order to maintain Law & Order.
Gabriel Cortez, a car racer and international drug dealer, escaped from FBI custody. He even takes an official with him as hostage so that he cannot be harmed by the officers. He grabs a modified Chevrolet Corvette C6 ZR1, and with the help of his driving speed, he heads toward New Mexico. He was one of the most wanted criminals; therefore, it was important for the police to keep hold of him.
In the route to New Mexico, Agent John Bannister sets up a blockade so that he can stop the drug dealer, but Cortez’s men are ready to tackle the situation. They somehow removed the barricades and cleared the road for their master. Agent Bannister was surprised to see a culprit escaping FBI custody. He prepared his team for the mission, but before arriving in Arizona, he ordered his team to check if someone was helping Cortez from inside. Owen, who resigned from his LAPD post, and his deputies found a milkman murdered.
They investigated more and found a lead to Cortez’s henchman Thoman Burrell and more. Owen and his deputies found out that Cortez’s men were planning to plant a mobile assault bridge across the valley. All of them get involved in a gunfight, and Bailey gets shot. The gunfight grew so intense that Owen had to order his officers to hold back. As the movie continues, it gets more and more intense. It gives out a retro classic vibe where there’s a tough team of criminals, and on the other side, there is a team of high officials.
At the end of the movie, the team of high officials proves themselves by defeating Cortez in his game. The official finds out that Agent Richard (one of the officials) helped Cortez to escape. So, Agent Bannister arrests both Cortez and Agent Richards, who not only helped Cortez escape but also took a hefty bribe and cheated his post, for sure! Because of all the struggles and intense actions, Deputies Figuerola and Dinkum get injured heavily, so they are taken to the hospital. Owen honors those who showed their incredible intellect. The story had a happy ending, and if you wish to watch the movie, you can by buying or renting it.
