Colorado Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog is targeting a return to the ice next season, but there’s no exact date set. He’s been recovering from major knee surgery and wants to make sure he’s fully healthy before rejoining the team.
Landeskog underwent cartilage transplant surgery in May 2023 and missed the entire 2023-24 season. He hasn’t played since helping the Avalanche win the Stanley Cup in June 2022.
A Long Road to Recovery
The 31-year-old forward says he’s feeling good physically now but doesn’t want to rush the recovery process. He’s focused on taking things step-by-step and avoiding setbacks.
Avalanche management is fully supportive and will give Landeskog all the time he needs to get back to 100%. They value his leadership and contributions to the team.
Landeskog remains dedicated to returning to the ice and playing for the Avalanche fans. He’s not focused on being the first player to return after this type of surgery but simply wants to be healthy and contribute to the team’s success.
