We are now at episode five of season three, also referred to as the penultimate episode of the show. Gavin (Eoin Macken) visits what will be Eve’s favourite location in 10,000 years and muses over what to do with the microchip in the first scene of the two-part season/series finale.
They acknowledge that they are concerned about whoever is giving them the messages on the laptop, but Ty (Chiké Okonkwo) reminds them that they need to trade it for Eve.
Since Paara is running late for her return from her trip, Ty is also concerned that anything happened to her. Both guys promise to keep trying until they are reunited with their families.
La Brea Season 3 Episode 5 Recap
After declining a chance to go stargazing, Izzy (Zyra Gorecki) admits to Veronica (Lily Santiago) that she’s concerned about her relationship with Leyla. Luckily, her dad asks her to join him and Ty in seeing a new message that has just appeared, cutting short their talk. In return for Eve, Gavin is told to bring the chip to Cahuenga Peak.
Before he can be certain Eve is still alive, the connection breaks. Maya (Claudia Ware) enters and interprets the news as positive. Gavin demands a very specific 10-minute interval to consider it and calls a time-out.
Josh McKenzie plays Lucas, and Jon Seda discovers him in the woods. Sam cautions Lucas not to charge the base by himself to get Scott back. Lucas was, as it turned out, merely paying a visit to his mother’s tomb. Sam, you sure ass jump about so much!
Lucas asks Sam whether he feels that Scott, Petra, and Levi were simply discovered and taken by these individuals by coincidence before Sam leaves him to speak with his mother. Come on, they found Scott amid a fire?
Lucas implies that information is being fed to the soldiers by a mole. Sam says he’ll help him work things out when he returns to the fort and doesn’t believe that’s a ridiculous thought.
Maya unexpectedly shows up there, cutting short Gavin’s ten-minute rest. Although she wants to assist him in making the exchange, Gavin declares he is going to destroy the microchip. It is too strong and hazardous.
He walks off and Maya pulls a revolver on him. She claims ownership of the chip and says she’s returning it. At that very moment, Sam and Ty approach, Sam brandishing his gun while Ty surprises Maya by coming from the other side and taking her weapon away.
Gavin affirms that he realized it was her when she appeared moments after the chat finished, as they demanded that she turn in her backpack. She is given the command to reveal Eve’s whereabouts. Maya says she has the upper hand when she refuses.
The tracking device in her watch is…and a voice yells, “Nobody moves!” as soon as they comprehend what that implies. Maya just takes the microchip out of Gavin’s pocket while Sam, Ty, and Gavin are encircled by soldiers. The soldiers start to tumble as shots ring out.
But Maya manages to escape, along with two soldiers, and takes off in a Jeep. Will Gavin be saved? Helena is his sister. How, you ask? Does he recognize her? Before he fell down the sinkhole in 2016, he didn’t know her. While Ty had met her, it’s unlikely that he provided Gavin with a detailed description of her, and 10,000 BC would not have recognized her face.
