England’s most significant music event occurred Saturday in London, with international sensation Kylie Minogue receiving one of its highest honors.
The Australian pop star was bestowed with the Global Icon Award at the Brit Awards, acknowledging her illustrious nearly four-decade-long career in music.
Additionally, Minogue was a nominee for International Artist of the Year, and she graced the stage to conclude the event with a spectacular medley performance of her chart-topping hits.
Prior to the ceremony, Minogue shared her sentiments with Brit Award correspondents, expressing how her mind has been abuzz with activity and accolades, yet eagerly anticipating the evening’s festivities.
The Global Icon Award was presented to Minogue by Dua Lipa, who referred to her as “the eternal queen of pop.”
When Minogue was on stage to accept the honor, she said,
“the thing that really gets me is the love of music and the connection with people.”
“There’s a part of me that’s still the 14-year-old girl in her room dreaming of making music,” she added.
Soon after receiving the award, Minogue graced the stage once again for a mesmerizing medley performance, spanning from “Padam, Padam” to “Slow” to “Can’t Get You Out of My Head,” serving as the grand finale of the night.
Her sixteenth studio album, “Tension,” released in September, ignited a fresh wave of popularity for the star, particularly with its lead single “Padam, Padam,” dominating airwaves and party playlists throughout the summer.
While basking in the London festivities, Minogue continues her residency in Las Vegas, showcasing her enduring talent on the international stage.
