Episode 4 of Krapopolis opens with a festive tribute to Prometheus, overseen by Tyrannis, the god whom the king alone holds in high regard. Regrettably, the joyous occasion is marred by an intoxicated Deliria, who inadvertently sets everything ablaze.
Krapopolis Episode 4: Recap and Review
The following morning, she suffers from a hangover induced by excessive wine consumption and declines Stupendous’s invitation to visit Cyclops Island. Many years ago, she had committed to her daughter when the child was only three, promising to reveal the true identity of Stupendous’s biological father.
Now, that day has arrived, and Shlub is the one who takes her to the island. Stupendous, grappling with feelings of abandonment, is inclined to confront him.
The common ache of abandonment resides deep within any child left behind, and in this tale, Deliria’s encounter with her birth father, Donny, carries a distinct flavor. Donny willingly consents to a showdown, transforming it into a jovial spectacle filled with beer and raucous cheering.
Meanwhile, Tyrannis pitches a daring scheme to Hippocampus: a mission to rescue Prometheus. The immortal suffered the eternal wrath of Zeus for his audacious theft of fire for humanity, enduring the ceaseless torment of an eagle feasting on his liver. With Hippocampus’s aid, Prometheus is freed from his unending torment, and he exacts vengeance by slaying the ravenous eagle.
Tyrannis masterminds this entire spectacle as a means to spite his mother, and Prometheus, nursing a grudge of his own, joins forces with Tyrannis. On Cyclops Island, Shlub elects to remain, tending to Stupendous’s needs.
However, her sudden surge of affection for Donny leads her to exhibit rudeness. Donny and Stupendous, in the midst of forming a connection, hit a point where the depth of their emotional bond becomes uncomfortable for Donny. He elucidates that Cyclops, by nature, don’t foster intimate bonds with their offspring.
The brothers bring Prometheus to the city, but when the two gods lay eyes on each other, they become passionately entangled in a make-out session. Tyrannis realizes that he has once again been deceived by his mother. It’s revealed that Deliria had an affair with Prometheus, driven by her admiration for someone willing to challenge Zeus and provoke him. In fact, it was Deliria’s idea to steal fire from Zeus.
However, she abandoned Prometheus when Zeus punished him. Tyrannis compels her to acknowledge this truth before promising to protect Prometheus. Deliria warns Tyrannis about the dangers associated with Prometheus.
Meanwhile, Stupendous is heartbroken and attempts to metaphorically “walk back home” across the ocean. She nearly drowns due to her lack of swimming skills, but Shlub comes to her rescue. Shlub even approaches Donny to discuss his indifference towards Stupendous.
Krapopolis Episode 5: Spoilers and Expectations
When Donny becomes agitated and engages in a physical altercation with Shlub, he uses his scorpion sting to fatally injure him. Hippo and Tyrannis witness firsthand Prometheus’ descent into madness as he becomes obsessed with his plan to attack Olympus.
Deliria intervenes and agrees to aid Prometheus with his plan, revealing that she did so to protect Tyrannis and the city, causing him to feel guilty. Deliria achieves her mission.
