There is always a line between any Kpop idol and their fans. Both parties should follow and respect that. If they don’t, conflict arises and naturally causes controversy. Recently, Korail reinstated an employee who invaded BTS leader- RM’s privacy. Fans expressed disappointment as the alleged fan, whom we address as Satsang, was not punished. What happened?
Well, RM’s prominence doesn’t need any introduction. He is very close to the Hybe Corporation chairman- “Hitman” Bang. So do the other members of the Kpop group. On Instagram, RM has garnered more than 45 million followers.

Being a fan is very much okay. What’s concerning and problematic is when one becomes too obsessed with the idol and accesses his data secretly. It’s illegal, too. A similar thing happened with RM.
On 22 December 2023, Kim Du Gwan, known for being a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, made a revelation. To be more precise, it was that of the Central Labor Relations Commission, submitted by KORAIL. It made an order stating the reinstatement of that alleged person. The latter previously got fired and now is ordered to have the regular wage payment.
Talking more about it, that employee is in charge of the IT development at KORAIL. He secretly accessed RM’s data. Like what? Well, that includes the idol’s ticket information, address, and mobile phone number.
The employee did it not just once but continuously for three long years. It all started back in 2019. KORAIL shared that he was just a fan and did everything out of curiosity.
One must note that the actions of the Satsang violated the Personal Information Protection Act.
The official statement of the Korail was- “It had reinstated Mr. Yoon and paid all of his overdue salary by the decision of the Central Labor Relations Commission.”
Fans are upset, stating that the employee should have been punished. Korai’s decision about the reinstatement raised questions about the corporation’s disciplinary practices. Many seemed to be showing concerns about RM’s safety.
One fan commented, “This is highly disturbing.” Another wrote, “The saddest thing about this is that Namjoon tries to live an ordinary life by riding trains and using public transportation when possible, and now Korail is saying it’s okay to violate his privacy because he’s famous.” In short, what the fan did was nothing less than a crime.
