The New Day, consisting of Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and Big E, was celebrated as one of WWE’s most cherished factions. Unfortunately, Big E’s career-ending injury in 2022 forced him to step away from the group, although he occasionally reunited with them for special appearances.
Since Big E’s departure, The New Day has been represented primarily by Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
Kofi Kingston’s Solo Journey
However, recent events on RAW suggest that Kofi Kingston may now be the sole representative of the group for the time being.
On a backstage segment during the latest episode of RAW, Kofi Kingston disclosed that Xavier Woods was slated to participate in this year’s King of the Ring tournament. There were high hopes for Woods to potentially secure his second tournament victory following his triumph in 2022.
Unfortunately, Woods suffered an injury during a match against The Ring General GUNTHER on last week’s RAW. He was visibly favoring his leg, leading Kingston to reveal that Woods would be sidelined for an indefinite period.
In light of this setback, Kingston expressed his unwavering focus on his own involvement in the upcoming tournament. Additionally, he announced an upcoming match against WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio at a WWE live event, vowing to dedicate any victories to his fallen teammate, Xavier Woods.
