Starring Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher, Killers is a 2010 action comedy film directed by Robert Luketic based on a screenplay by Bob DeRosa and Ted Griffin. It also stars Tom Selleck, Catherine O’Hara, Alex Borstein, Martin Mull, Rob Riggle, and Katheryn Winnick in supporting roles.
Killers follows Jen Kornfeldt, a beautiful computer tech who is recovering from a bad break-up, and Spencer Aimes, a government operative who assassins people all around the world. Used to living an exotic life with flashier women, when Spencer meets Jen, he finds true love and stops working as an assassin.
Although he has left being an assassin, over the years of being an assassin, he has made several enemies. What was supposed to be a quiet morning on his birthday turns out to be the day his wife learns about his past when Spencer and Jen become the target of a hit job. However, they don’t know who the assassin is and suspect that they have been stalked for years by either their friends, neighbors, or even the grocery store clerk.
As they run away from their house to save their necks, Jen must come to terms with her husband’s past employment while simultaneously trying to save their marriage and figure out who is behind such an attack. Killers were panned critically by critics and audiences alike, and Ashton Kutcher won the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Actor. However, Killers debuted at number 3 at the box office and grossed $98.1 million worldwide on a budget of $75 million.

Killers was filmed in the fall of 2009 and was filmed in Georgia, the United States of America, and in Villefranche-sur-Mer, France.
Villefranche-sur-Mer, France
In the movie, Jen and Spencer meet each other in Nice, France, and decide to go there to celebrate his birthday. Scenes that depicted Nice were actually shot at Villefranche-sur-Mer, a resort town situated on the French Riviera. The hotel scenes in Killers were filmed at the iconic Hotel du Cap in the nearby city of Antibes. The town of Villefranche-sur-Mer has a long maritime history and was a popular winter residence for the rich and elite in the late 19th century.
Atlanta, Georgia
The character of Jen is originally from Georgia. Therefore, several scenes in the movie are shot in Atlanta, the capital of Georgia. Atlanta is quickly becoming the center of film and television production in America after New York and Los Angeles. It has been reported that film and television production has pumped $9 billion dollars into Georgia’s economy.
The production team of Killer’s filmed the majority of the film’s suburban scenes in the Tributary Community in Douglasville, Georgia. This is because the community is known for its picture-perfect neighborhood that juxtaposed well against Spencer’s dark dealings working as a secret assassin.
Culver Studios, Culver City, California
Used during the principal photography stage of the filming of Killers, it is unclear which scenes were shot at the iconic Culver Studios, Culver City, California. Due to its closeness to Hollywood, several films and television series have been shot at Culver studios, like Arrested Development, The Matrix, Beetlejuice, America’s Next Top Model, A Few Good Men, Citizen Kane, and The Andy Griffith Show. Culver Studios has six sound stages, several eateries and shops, a hotel, and an office building to fulfill all production requirements.
Nassau, Bahamas
Aside from Villefranche-sur-Mer, Killers was also shot in another exotic location- Nassau, the Bahamas. Only a few scenes were shot in Nassau, the capital of the Bahamas, and most of them were shot at the Nassau Sheraton Cable Beach Hotel. Nassau, Bahamas, is a popular cruise stop and is known for its colonial buildings, serene beaches, and wonderful seafood.
