As he prepares to release his sixth studio album, LOST CORNER, worldwide on Wednesday, August 21, global crossover J-pop artist Kenshi Yonezu has debuted a new track from the album titled “Garakuta – JUNK,” which is now available everywhere. This song serves as the theme for the movie LAST MILE, which will hit theaters in Japan on August 23.
Today, an event called the “Shared Universe Premiere” took place, with the cast gathered together for a premiere held in five cities across the country. The movie, directed by Ayuko Tsukahara and written by Akiko Nogi, stars Hikari Mitsushima as Elena and Masaki Okada as the team manager Ko Nashimoto.
It also connects to the worlds of the dramas for which Yonezu has previously done theme songs, “Unnatural” and “MIU404.”
In addition to this, Yonezu announced his upcoming world tour, which includes additional shows to his already announced Japan tour, “KENSHI YONEZU 2025 TOUR / JUNK.” The tour will feature eight performances across six cities in Asia, Europe, and America.
The tour will run from March to April, with stops in Shanghai, Taipei, London, Paris, New York, and concluding in Los Angeles. This tour marks Kenshi Yonezu’s first performances in Europe and America and will be his largest live tour to date, including his first dome performance in Japan.
