Two years since Tom Parker’s death, his widow, Kelsey Parker, has taken the decision to take off her wedding ring. While making this decision, she “felt really painful,” as the band given to her by her late husband used to remind her of him when she used to look at it.
Due to an inoperable brain tumor, glioblastoma multiforme, Tom passed away in March 2022 after being diagnosed with the disease for two years. Tom’s death wasn’t easy for Kelsey as it had brought a series of milestones in her life, which she had to go through while healing from her loss.

Kelsey and Tom Parker shared two daughters, Aurelia and Bodhi, whom Kelsey had to take care of alone after Tom’s death, and it was one of the most difficult milestones for her. In her recent Instagram video, Kelsey talked about the milestones she has been facing during the healing process and also shared about her decision to take off her wedding ring with her followers.
After 8 months of Parker’s death, she had started dating someone but had split from him last year. In her video, she expressed her point of view of why it’s high time that she should stop wearing her wedding ring, following which she told her followers that she was willing to share something with them all this evening.
She went on to say, “It’s something I’ve been thinking long and hard about for a while now, and as we end the first week of a new year, I have decided to take off my rings” in her video.
In the video, she says that whenever she used to look at them, it would make her feel really painful as if she were torturing herself over when would be the “right time.” While giving her point, she says that she knows that there is never a right or wrong time, but there is a point in life when she has to remove them.
Further, she went on to say, “Of course, I’ll always be Tom’s; he’ll always be in my heart, and I know I will forever be in his,” but for now, she feels it is the right time to take off the rings because, in this world, she is not married anymore, no matter how much this breaks her heart, but she has to admit it.
Though Kelsey has taken off the wedding ring, she is still not over the emotion she has attached to them, and she is still not sure of what she wants to do with that. She wrote in her caption, “I’m not sure what I am going to do with them yet. One day I’d love for Rae to have them, but right now I want to do something special with them. I am not ready to let go of them”.
In her caption, she wrote a series of ideas that had come to her mind in regard to what she should do with the ring. She said that she was wondering if she could wear it around her neck or frame it and put it in the space that she created with Tom’s music stuff. She even asks her followers for any lovable ideas they have for it; she says, “Does anyone have any other ideas or thoughts on this?
Furthermore, in the caption of the content, she goes on to wonder about her attached emotions to the ring, which she is not yet ready to let go of as she still does not feel she is over her marriage. Kelsey wrote in her caption, “How do I protect and honor my marriage to Tom while not leaving in the past!?”.
Sticking up to her decision, she shares gratitude for all the love and support she has received from her fans and goes on asking for ideas for followers to have regarding the ring, saying she needs the same love further as well as mentioning “no hate, please!” in the caption. Kelsey is said to be looking forward to 2024 being a positive year with no space for negative energy or hatred.
