In the previous chapter of Kaoru Hana Wa Rin To Saku, Rintaro’s friends all gather at his shop on Christmas Eve to help with the lack of manpower. Everyone looked super nervous and excited to help out at Rintaro’s cake shop, especially on the day that was supposed to be the busiest one of the year.
The roles had all been divided, and most of them were hanging out outside the kitchen to help the customers and take orders. The staff at the cake shop was pretty happy with the turnout since Rintaro’s friends are all really kind but also cheerful and hardworking, which makes the environment pleasant.
Ayato Yorita and Yuzuhara Madoka were outside, bringing the customers inside and distributing flyers. Yorita still hadn’t overcome the shadow of his past that still seemed to be haunting him for some reason. It seems like Yuzuhara could tell that something was wrong with Yorita.
He goes inside for some work with Saito and sees the people working passionately inside the kitchen. He was shocked to see the sight but also somewhat ashamed at the same time. In his words, he didn’t believe that he could ever be so passionate about something in his life and give it his all.
The people inside the kitchen were hyper-focused and giving it their all to make cakes for the numerous customers outside. When Yorita came back outside, he had a weirdly distraught expression on his face, and he could no longer ignore the burden that had been weighing him down and directing his choices.
