Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears’ “feud” is non-existent and the trauma over her abortion has been resolved privately.
Timberlake offered apologies to his former pop superstar partner, and according to NSYNC bandmate Lance Bass, they have now reconciled, as disclosed in an exclusive interview.
Bass, a close friend to both Britney and longtime pal Justin, emphasized that Britney addressed the breakup in her book to clarify the past.
Despite public perceptions based on Spears’ social media posts, he asserts that Timberlake and Spears are on good terms, stating, “They don’t care. They are good.”
Bass, speaking exclusively on camera at the Environmental Media Association Awards in LA, highlighted that the personal issues between the couple were not even a “fight.”
The former NSYNC star views his friends’ challenges as simply a part of life. At 44, Bass acknowledged that Britney fans pushing her single “Selfish” ahead of Timberlake’s on the iTunes Charts is beneficial for everyone.
Despite ongoing attacks from some of Spears’ fans regarding past heartbreak and cheating allegations in 2001, Bass emphasized that the famous couple has already resolved their differences, stating, “Well, the problem is they’ve already sorted it out, and everyone just forgets.”
“No, they are fine. They support each other. They love each other in their ways.
“He has apologized. She is amazing. It’s just like everyone; this has happened already.
“So I think just people like to keep fights going but look at the people that are in the fight. They don’t care. They’re good.”
In her memoir, Spears asserted that the media depicted her as “a harlot who’d broken the heart of America’s golden boy,” whereas she was actually “comatose in Louisiana” while Timberlake was “happily running around Hollywood.”
Timberlake has not publicly commented on Spears’ claims, but during his Vegas gig in December, he mentioned “no disrespect” before performing “Cry Me a River,” a song inspired by her alleged cheating.
Hours later, Spears seemingly responded on Instagram, stating, “I never mentioned how I beat him in basketball and he would cry… no disrespect.”
In a vibrant green suit with violet hair, Bass remarked that “The Woman In Me” doesn’t reflect their current status. He clarified, “But she was talking about her past. She’s not talking about it right now. Okay. So what’s happening right now – they are fine.”
“I don’t know why people try to keep this fight going. It wasn’t even really a fight. It was just life.”
Bass believes that Spears’ fans continuing to disrupt Timberlake is not necessarily a bad thing.
Good For Everybody
They propelled her song titled “Selfish” to No. 1 on the iTunes Top Songs chart, preventing his song from claiming the top spot. Despite the drama, Bass, aged 44, believes Timberlake, whose new album “Everything I Thought It Was” is set for release on March 15, is coming out on top.
“It’s good for everybody, right? Yeah. Any press is good press is what they say. So yeah, I mean, it’s fine. Now they both have singles in the top 10, which is great.”
Bass acknowledges that Timberlake has his Forget Tomorrow World Tour starting in Vancouver, Canada on April 29, but there are no NSYNC reunion plans. He added, “There is always hope,” especially after the positive fan reaction to Bass, JT, Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, and JC Chasez reuniting for The Trolls film comeback single before Christmas.
“The fans are incredible. They keep us alive, but they’ve been with us since the last NSYNC tour. So it’s like we’ve never felt like they’ve left us at all. Everything that I’ve ever done, I felt that they were there. They’ve always shown up for me in every individual project I’ve done. When we get together as a group, it is a different thing.”
Bass addressed the controversy before co-hosting the star-studded EMA award at the Sunset Las Palmas Studios in Los Angeles. Hollywood star Laura Dern was honored with the EMA Ongoing Commitment Award for her continued dedication to the cause.
