The popular manga series Jujutsu Kaisen is heading toward its conclusion in the near future. Creator Gege Akutami has stated their intention to finish the manga before 2025 arrives.
This announcement has sparked much discussion and speculation among fans regarding how the remaining storylines and unresolved mysteries will play out.
With the end in sight but many questions still unanswered, fans have been coming up with their own theories to fill in the gaps. One intriguing new fan theory proposes that the protagonist, Yuji Itadori, was actually created deliberately by the antagonist Kenjaku to serve as the ideal vessel for the powerful curse spirit Ryomen Sukuna.
While this theory may seem far-fetched at first glance, a closer examination of the details and events presented in the manga so far lends it some plausibility that has impressed many readers.
As the final arc plays out, this theory, if proven true, would provide a shocking twist that recontextualizes much of the story.
Fans are eager to see how much of this speculation will ultimately align with Gege Akutami’s intended conclusions for his highly popular series. The finale is shaping up to be full of surprise revelations that may go in unexpected directions.
Jujutsu Kaisen Fan Theory Suggests Yuji Itadori’s Origin and Purpose
Recent chapters of Jujutsu Kaisen have revealed an unexpected twist – protagonist Yuji Itadori’s mother, Kaori, was possessed by the antagonist Kenjaku prior to Yuji being born.
Fans noticed that Kaori bore the same trademark stitches on her forehead that Kenjaku leaves on his victims’ bodies after taking them over, such as with Suguru Geto.
This implies that Yuji’s father, Jin Itadori, may have been aware of Kenjaku’s plot and complicit in allowing the possessed Kaori to conceive Yuji.

Speculation is that Kenjaku specifically engineered and experimented on Yuji to create the perfect vessel for the sinister spirit Ryomen Sukuna, much like he did with the ancient Death Womb Paintings.
This would explain Yuji’s immediate spiritual connection to the Paintings’ creator Choso, despite not being one himself. It also accounts for Yuji’s superhuman physical gifts that exceed other Jujutsu sorcerers, allowing him to suppress Sukuna’s power through sheer strength of body.
If true, this bombshell fan theory recontextualizes much of Jujutsu Kaisen’s plot progression by revealing Yuji’s entire existence may have been maliciously crafted right from the start to suit Kenjaku’s still mysterious endgame plans involving the revival of Ryomen Sukuna.
Many readers have been shocked yet intrigued by this speculation’s implications.
Yuji Itadori As the Ultimate Weapon for Sukuna’s Revival
As a villain with centuries of cunning scheming behind him, Kenjaku specifically chose Yuji Itadori’s mother Kaori to possess due to her own prowess as a jujutsu sorcerer.
Her unique Anti-Gravity technique proved pivotal in Kenjaku’s later fight against Yuki Tsukumo. Beyond just creating Sukuna’s vessel, Kenjaku likely also intended to harness Kaori’s jujutsu abilities for himself.
Furthermore, Kenjaku knew he could easily manipulate Yuji’s father Jin into going along with his twisted plan, allowing him to freely experiment on their unborn child.
The theory suggests Kenjaku implanted remnants of Sukuna into infant Yuji while also enhancing him physically and spiritually to contain the sinister spirit.
So in essence, Kenjaku patiently set events in motion for over a hundred years, waiting for the day Sukuna would revival, at which point his custom-tuned vessel Yuji would be ready to subsume the demon until Kenjaku was prepared to initiate the next phase.
By using Kaori and the ignorant Jin as his pawns, Kenjaku birthed and cultivated what he hoped would become his greatest weapon.
The extent of just how much meddling Kenjaku did on baby Yuji may still come to light. But it further paints the antagonist as a cunning and foresighted mastermind who should never be underestimated by friends and foes alike.
Beacon of Hope in the Final Showdown
Delving further into the theory, Kenjaku implanting remnants of Sukuna into infant Yuji could account for Yuji’s incredible physicality and potential to adapt to the sinister spirit once he consumed his fingers.
It primed Yuji’s body in advance to one day fully host Sukuna.
While those remnants likely remained dormant for years, now that Yuji has eaten over a dozen of Sukuna’s fingers and gained greater control, those particles embedded by Kenjaku may catalyze and amplify Yuji’s jujutsu prowess even more.
Despite being created for evil purposes, Yuji found support in his grandfather and friendships at Jujutsu Tech to give him strength of heart.
This irony now puts the fictional pawn in a position to take down the very evil that birthed him.
Kenjaku wished to orchestrate Sukuna’s comeback, but with his own human lab creation Yuji could instead become the fated destroyer of the formidable King of Curses.
So in the end Yuji’s intended fate to be a mere vessel may truly be defied, turning Kenjaku’s ingenious scheme against him in poetic fashion.
The stage is set for an intense final clash where Yuji’s will and bonds challenge the forces of darkness that engineered his origin.
