Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 9 was released only a few hours ago, and the episode showcased the strongest sorcerer of the modern era at his peak once again after an episode where fans complained that how Yuji’s fight with the grasshopper cursed spirits wasn’t animated properly, this episode was an absolute delight with Gojo being at the center of the episode.
It seems that Mappa is a fan of Gojo, just like the Jujutsu Kaisen fandom. It isn’t far stretched when we say that the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 9 will probably be the best of the series so far that saw Gojo with a wild spectrum of emotions that we had never seen before.
His range of emotions saw him getting cool, excited to kill, and going things his way to getting angry and not caring about others to recalling a love for his best friend that he had forgotten.
It was a delight to see Gojo being a total maniac to a teenager wanting to be with his best friend again.
But as the episode came, we all know this incident was orchestrated solely for the purpose of sealing the strongest sorcerer of the modern era, and they were successful. Let us dive into the detailed recap and the review of the episode.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 9 Recap And Review
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 9 was titled “Shibuya Incident – Gate, Open,” and the episode opens with a short recording of the various characters of the series, all of them being asked about “What do you think about Gojo Satoru?”

The answers that everyone gave were within range of calling him stupid and egotistical to Yuji and Megumi being glad to have him as their teacher; however, every one of them had one common thing that they had to say about him, and that is “He is the strongest.”
Then, the episode showcases a preview of Gojo panting after killing 1000 transfigured humans. It was a brilliant opener and an amazing art direction choice for the episode.
The recorded version of everyone being asked about what they think about Gojo was an extra part of the Jujutsu Kaisen volume 10, and it was a good choice to implement it in this episode just before what was about to come.
After the opening song, we see Gojo wearing the cursed spirits and how he is going to kill them, starting with Hanami as he is seeing him for the third time now; given that he doesn’t understand how strong Gojo is, it has come to his ego.
Gojo vs. the Cursed Spirits
Thus, Gojo dives into the fight, and the first thing that he does is not put up his limitless, allowing them to him and do vice-versa; however, his original plan of removing his limitless will be displayed in the following minutes.
After removing his limitless and not using cursed techniques because it will eventually hit the crowd, Gojo showcases a range of martial arts, starting with breaking Jogo’s hand and avoiding Hanami’s kick and kicking him instead.
Gojo then goes after Jogo, with the latter running away in fear. This makes Hanami wonder that if Gojo is using his cursed technique, then he does not need to hide in the crowd to avoid being hit and thus can also use his innate cursed technique to hit Gojo Satoru.
However, this is what Gojo wants and the reason why he has deactivated his limitless.
As Hanami uses Cursed Techqiue, he is not able to use his Domain Amplification, and seeing opportunity and what exactly Gojo wants, he excitedly jumps at him and removes the roots that are also his eyes, saying that this is the source of his powers.
It was brutal to watch Hanami getting wrecked so badly, yet exciting to see Gojo being very excited and acting like a maniac.

This act makes Jogo wonder if there is anything that Gojo cannot do. Following this, since Gojo doesn’t have his limitless, Choso uses his technique to hit him from a range; however, Gojo puts up his limitless to avoid it, and thus Hanami and Jogo follow up with a punch using Domain Amplification, hoping to hit him.
But Gojo just says that they are sure about this and that he’d only enhance his cursed energy to repel them, and since Hanami is very weak now, he won’t be able to handle him and, thus, follows a Gojo outputting his limitless to an extent where Hanami gets crushed between Gojo’s limitless and the wall behind him.
Prison Realm and The Needed Sacrifices
Following this act of terror by Gojo, a flashback occurs with all the cursed spirits where Geto tells about the prison realm that will seal Gojo Satoru for good, but given that it is a prison realm, it will have some conditions to get it to work, and Geto explains that it will require only a minute for Gojo to stay in the range of the prison realm and the range is within four meters from the prison realm.
Jogo says that it is impossible for them to handle Gojo for a minute within a range, and it seems like a suicide mission even though there are distractions and everything. But Geto says that there is a catch to the one minute, which will be revealed later.
Following this flashback, Jogo starts to run away in fear, and Choso uses his projectile attack to kill humans, which makes Gojo sad. and says that he cannot save everyone but in return promises to exorcise the cursed spirits in return as the strongest.
Meanwhile, Yuji arrives at the lower platform and sees only a single human who tells him that all the humans that were transfigured had boarded a train before transfiguring herself. Yuji wonders what could be the reason and figures that the train is headed to the B5 platforms where Gojo is.
Cutting back to the said platform, the crowd is excited to see a train incoming, while Gojo is baffled as to how a train could be arriving. And it turns out that the train is full of transfigured humans and with Mahito onboard as well.
As the transfigured humans start to cause havoc, Mahito tries to hit Gojo and excitingly remarks that he indeed cannot touch him at all before saying that there are too many humans, and that starts to flood the area from the roof that Hanami had created as well.
Gojo is backed up, and Mahito’s monologue notes that Gojo isn’t like Yuji at all, and thus he understands the needed sacrifices that he would in order to achieve certain goals and conditions, but in Gojo’s book, those needed sacrifices are the ones that are caused by the cursed spirits and not the sacrifices that Gojo himself has to do. Thus, the cursed spirits and Choso think that they have gotten Gojo at the corner.
Gojo’s Domain Expansion of 0.2 Seconds and Getting Sealed
However, they were all wrong, as Gojos uses his Domain Expansion to reach everyone at the present, but he expands his domain for only a mere 0.2 seconds, and the consequences of this will have all the humans getting half a year’s worth of information in that mere 0.2 seconds making them unconscious as they stand and will take two months for them to recover.

This also halts the cursed spirits, but instead of going after them, Gojo decides to protect the humans, killing approximately 1000 transfigure humans in the next 299 seconds. As Gojo starts to pant after killing them, he sees a prison box in front of him.
He steps back, but he hears Geto’s iconic “Yo,” causing Gojo to stop at the place and in that mere second, Gojo’s mind gets flooded with all the fond memories of his youth with Geto, which is likely of the three years in the Jujutsu high. The condition of the Prison realm is to have one minute pass in the target’s mind, and thus seal opens and latches on Gojo.
As Gojo is about, he asks Geto who he really is. He tells him that even though his six eyes tell him that standing in front of him is Geto, his soul rejects him, to which Geto or this person reveals that he was right and this person’s technique allows him to switch brains allowing him to live on while getting the innate techniques.
This person tells Gojo that they need the situation for the current plan and have Gojo sealed as well since he is always getting in his way.
Gojo says that there are many strong ones like Yuta who could take him on, but Geto says that he doesn’t think he is much of a threat like Gojo. With this, Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Episode 9 comes to an end with Yuji being informed by a device from Mechamaru saying that Gojo is Sealed.
