Lionsgate is adding to the John Wick universe with a new action series called John Wick: Under The High Table, according to Deadline. This series will start right after John Wick: Chapter 4 and will show what happens after John Wick’s actions. It will introduce both new characters and some familiar faces.
Keanu Reeves and Chad Stahelski, who are the star and director of the movie series, are executive producers. Stahelski will also direct the first episode. Robert Levine is writing the series, which will focus on the High Table, a secret group of assassins.
Reeves is involved as an executive producer, but it is not clear if he will appear on screen. Nevertheless, he is working hard behind the scenes to keep the series true to what fans love about John Wick.
What is the spin-off about?
There are more John Wick-related projects coming up. The Continental, a prequel set in the 1970s and featuring Winston Scott, the character played by Ian McShane, premiered last year on Peacock. Next summer, John Wick Presents: Ballerina will come out with Ana De Armas in the lead role.
McShane will return as Winston Scott, and so will Reeves and the late Lance Reddick. There is also talk of a spin-off movie about Donnie Yen’s character, Caine, from Chapter 4.
In addition to these new projects, a fifth John Wick film is being made, promising even more action. The new series John Wick: Under The High Table will not affect the movie plans, so fans can enjoy both the series and more films expanding this exciting universe. It is a great time for John Wick fans.
John Wick: Chapter 4 ended with an exciting and uncertain finish. After fighting many enemies, John faced the Marquis and won in a tense duel.
However, John was seriously hurt and appeared to die from his injuries. The ending left viewers unsure of his fate. The post-credits scene added more mystery, as Akira, who wants revenge for her father’s death, approaches Caine with a knife, hinting at future conflicts in the John Wick universe.
