Reportedly, John Schneider has grabbed the attention of President Joe Biden after calling for him to be ‘publicly hung’ in a now-deleted tweet from the Dukes of Hazzard star X’s (formerly Twitter) account.
According to Deadline, Joe Biden’s Secret Service investigation has been opened against the star for his statement, which expressed that the president should be publicly hanged. The statement by Schneider was made in response to a tweet by Biden in which he expressed how former President Donald Trump poses threats to the country.
John Schneider said Joe Biden “should be publicly hung.”
Recently, Schneider gave a response to a tweet by Biden related to the former president Donald Trump. In his response, Schneider said Biden should be publicly hanged.
Though the post has been deleted now, a screenshot acquired by the outlet shows that the statement has said, “Mr. President, I believe you are guilty of treason and should be publicly hung. Your son, too. Your response is… sincerely, John Schneider.”
A statement has been acquired by the people where the actor actually denied the acceptance that it was a threat to the president. Anyhow, it did feel like a threat to Biden, and the President has leased a Secret Service investigation into the star.
The tweet made by Schneider has already been deleted; before, it could have created much fuss for him, but as of now, he’s under investigation by the Secret Service because of the potentially threatening response on X (formerly Twitter).
The post by the actor was made hours after his second following came in, Wednesday’s season 10 finale of The Masked Singer. During this time period of the reality competition series, Schneider told people the ways it has helped him come over from the death of his wife, Alicia Allian, who passed away on February 21 due to breast cancer at the age of 53.
In relation to the post, Schneider clarified his side to the US weekly by saying, “Seriously, folks??” The actor gave his final statement on the issue, where he said, “I neither said nor implied any such thing.” The actor said this despite headlines claiming otherwise about the post.
The Schneider in his defense had also said, “I absolutely did not call for an act of violence or threaten a U.S. president as many other celebrities have done in the past.” The actor also made a suggestion to others to read the actual post again and pay attention to what he had said before believing in any nonsense.
Reportedly, Schneider told the outlet, “It’s my position, which I am entitled to have, that some of our nation’s leaders in Washington have lost their way, and corruption runs rampant, both on our nation’s borders and abroad.” The actor further said, “Transparency and accountability must happen in order for our constitutional republic to survive. There is no threat implied or otherwise in that statement.”
Us Weekly had a moment of interaction with a spokesperson of the Secret Service, who told the outlet that they were aware of the comments that were made by Schneider.
Furthermore, the spokesperson said, “As a matter of practice, we do not comment on matters involving protective intelligence.” He added that all they can say as of now is that the Secret Service investigates all threats related to their protectees.
Prior to this controversy of comments, Schneider was noticed getting emotional about finishing up The Masked Singer as a runner-up. He said that it was his late wife who gave him the inspiration to join the competition series.
While discussing his late wife’s battle against breast cancer, which caused her death, Schneider said, “My wife passed away in February of this year. That’s why it’s still so fresh, and I think it’s always going to be fresh.”
Any further details on the investigation related to the controversy over the comment made by Schneider have not been given by the Secret Service Investigation agency. The agency is still digging deep to provide protection to its employees.
