John Maus Controversy
John Maus is hated by a majority of blacks and the LGBTQ+ community. All this hatred heated up in 2021 when John Maus and Ariel Pink were spotted in the Pro Donald Trump protests. This protest was so huge that it put the US capital, Washington, DC, on fire.
John Maus’s comments were, reportedly, provoking. However, John’s statements after that incident were acceptable enough. At the present time, a statement from the organizers came out which says that after observing the response to the lineup announcement, the panel has decided they will proceed without John Maus.
George Clanton, further, apologized, saying that he wanted to apologize to all those who felt unseen by the lineup. He also apologized to the artists who were unnecessarily dragged into the controversy. He further continued by saying that the team has selected areas where the LGBTQ+ community’s support is high, and the team cannot let them feel unsafe.
To this, John Maus opened up in an interview and said that he is going to donate some of his cancellation fees to two groups that are The Trevor Project and Hope Not Hate. He further said that he feels sorry that he made ElectroniCON fans and supporters unsafe, and he won’t perform in this legendary music event.
The ones who were to attend ElectroniCON certainly didn’t want him to be the headliner of the music event. When the lineup was announced, people started commenting things like, they did not want John Maus on stage. A person wrote on Twitter that it’s very disappointing to hear that John Maus is a headliner for Econ4. After so much disappointment among the supporters, the panel had to cut out John Maus’s name from the lineup.
