During the November 27 episode of RAW, it was confirmed that in the upcoming 4 December episode of WWE RAW, Seth Rollins will be defending the gold. Jey Uso has been announced as challenging Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. This news was first announced by Rollins, and later on, Uso made the save successfully when Drew McIntyre attacked the champion on Monday.
The Monday match of Rollins vs. Uso has been dedicated to Umaga by Uso. Just before starting the match, Jey took to Instagram and announced that he had decided to dedicate this match to Umaga, who died 14 years ago, as a tribute to the Intercontinental champion breaking this announcement to the media, Uso said, “December 4th, this one is for you.”
Why did Jey dedicate his match to Umaga?
Umaga (originally Edward Smith Fatu) is not just an intercontinental champion but someone who has a great history of victory in WWE history, which connects both the champions and the bloodline they come from.
Umaga is a member of the Anoaí family, which includes great WWE wrestlers of history like Roman Reigns, The Usos (Jey and Jimmy), who are also the tack team champions, and Solo Sikoa, who are the nephews of Umaga.
Apart from their bloodline connection, December 4 is also the death anniversary of Umaga, as he passed away on December 4, 2009, due to a fatal heart attack. Therefore, Jey decided to dedicate his December 4 match to him.
Jey Uso made his debut in the WWE FCW (Florida Wrestling Championship) in December 2009. He wrestled as Jules Uso, along with his twin brother Jimmy. They had become the FCW-Florida Tag Team Champions and had gained fame as the Usos. Noticing the month and year Jey made his debut, it can also be assumed that his December 4 match was a more important day for him as it marks his 14th anniversary with WWE.

The First title that Jey had won is the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship that too without his brother through a match where he and Rhodes defeated Bàlor and Priest.
