Jessa Seewald, who was formerly known as Jessa Duggar, gave birth to her fifth child, George Augustine Seewald. She announced on 23 December 2023 that her rainbow boy had arrived.
The former Counting On star shared a picture on her Instagram handle where the mother of five was seen holding the baby in her arms while sitting in a hospital bed. She has also posted the baby’s full birth story on her YouTube Channel.
Jessa and Ben have four other kids named Ivy, Fern, Henry, and Spurgeon. The video captured the sweet moment of her four children meeting their baby brother for the first time. Jessa Seewald also looked down happily at her newborn as she rested while still in a hospital gown.
She captioned the image, “Baby is here, and we couldn’t be more grateful!”. Jessa noted that the birth of her fifth child was not an easy one. She was in labor for twelve hours before moving to the room and getting an epidural.
When she thought that things were moving along just fine, the doctor broke her confidence by saying that the baby was still very high. The doctor also claimed that the baby was not in the most ideal position.
She then decided to shut off the epidural and work more so that the baby could descend faster. She also had a midwife who helped her to get into a bunch of different laboring positions to help rotate the baby. Jessa has also shared some of the photos of her midwife helping her in the process.

Jessa Seewald is a very active vlogger on YouTube, and the star has also captured the scenes from the birth of her fourth child. The actor has given birth to her fifth child and has not forgotten to share the beautiful story of her child’s birth with her fans and followers.
In a video posted on December 23, she was first seen explaining her previous experiences. She also guessed that her baby could be big in terms of weight. She also claimed that there are studies showing that mothers can be accurate with the baby’s weight.
In between, she also showed her kids decorating their gingerbread homes and baking Christmas cookies with their grandmother.
She was moved to her room after twelve hours of labor and decided to shut off the epidural. She said that “ it worked great on one side” and was “sort of spotty on the other side.” She tried different laboring positions so as to get the baby in the right position.
She said in the video that
And when I got to the point where I could tell the baby was descending, the contractions felt more intense, I was like, I need the epidural turned back on, please. We turned the epidural back on, [and] one leg was working great [while] the other side, just, I could feel everything.
She said that the doctors had to readminister the epidural several times. It was after 21 hours in labor that Jessa finally gave birth to her child. The moment was emotional for the mother and father. Jessa broke down in tears as the baby was placed into her arms. Her husband could be seen wiping away her tears before placing a kiss on her forehead.
Jessa said in the video that the sweetest moment was when they raised the baby and put him on her. She also mentioned about the baby that they have lost last year.
The couple announced that they are expecting their fifth one, a year after Jessa suffered a miscarriage in 2022. She wrote, “After a heartbreaking loss last year, they are so grateful that God has blessed them with a rainbow baby.
Later, in part 2 of the video, the big brothers and sisters paid a visit to their little one, where the oldest was seen welcoming their rainbow boy with a bunch of flowers.
