Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright have been seen together, just weeks following their separation announcement.
The former Vanderpump Rules stars reunited in Los Angeles on Friday. Cartwright, 35, confirmed last month that she and Taylor, 44, were living separately.
Outside an L.A. residence, Jax Taylor was observed opening the gate for his now-estranged wife while she held a pile of clothes. He also assisted by pulling the trash cans inside for her.
Cartwright initially disclosed the separation on her and Taylor’s podcast, When Reality Hits, in February. She revealed that the couple had been facing issues for nearly a year.
“Marriages in general are very hard, and I’ve had a particularly rough year this past year,” she said on the podcast. “Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”
Cartwright expressed uncertainty about the future of her relationship with her husband, stating,
“I don’t know what the future holds.”
She emphasized her current priority of being the best mother to Cruz, their 2-year-old son.
“Pray for us and everything will be just fine,” Cartwright added. “We’re good.”
At the premiere of Cartwright and Taylor’s upcoming show, The Valley, on Thursday, the reality star emphasized in an exclusive interview that her primary focus was on Cruz above all else.
“At this point, Cruz is the most important thing, he’s all that matters,” Cartwright said during the interview. “Other than that, like, I’m just trying to have fun and be happy right now for once.”
Cartwright said she hopes Taylor will “make changes that he needs to make,” before adding,
“My son deserves better. I deserved better.”
Also at The Valley premiere, Cartwright disclosed that she was compelled to move out of their house and into an Airbnb rental following a “horrible fight” between the couple, who tied the knot in 2019. She told,
“I just packed up my stuff and left.”
For his part, Taylor conveyed at Thursday’s premiere that he and Cartwright mutually decided that it’s best for their family to separate at this time and “take a little bit of a breather.”
“I’m not sure what the future holds for this, but, as of right now, this is the best-case scenario,” he said. “This is not a publicity stunt.”
Cartwright also clarified that the couple did not announce their split to generate publicity for The Valley, despite circulating rumors.
“It’s been hard because a lot of people think our timing is weird because the show is coming out,” she said. “But I can’t control the freaking timing. I wish I could.”
“If people have actually watched me and know my personality, they should understand this is not something I would do for a show,” she continued. “I am all about family, I’m all about marriage. I’ve been about that my entire life. This is something real that I really needed to step back from for a minute.”
