On March 18th KST, the drama’s production company, Pan Entertainment, released an official statement denying the reports. They made it clear that the rumored figure is completely false and has no basis.
The pay rumors started from an anonymous online post, which also claimed high fees for other stars like Park Hyung Sik for Doctor Slump and Lee Jung Jae for Squid Game 2.
When Life Gives You Tangerines stars IU and Park Bo Gum and is set in 1950s Jeju. The story follows two characters—an ambitious, rebellious young woman and a kind-hearted man—as they grow and experience life together through different seasons.
IU’s team emphasized that any information about her salary that didn’t come directly from official sources should not be trusted.
