One of the most talked-about movies of 2024, It Ends With Us, has achieved a major milestone at the global box office. The film has officially earned over $200 million worldwide, becoming only the 13th movie of the year to reach this amount.
It Ends With Us now joins a group of movies that includes Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire and The Garfield Movie, which also hit this mark. Other movies like Inside Out 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine reached this total during their opening weekends.
Currently, It Ends With Us has a global box office total of $204.4 million, with $106.7 million from domestic markets and $97.7 million from international markets. The movie was made for $25 million, meaning it has nearly earned back its production budget tenfold.
The film stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, with Baldoni also directing. The script, written by Christy Hall, is based on Colleen Hoover’s book of the same name.
It Ends With Us has become the highest-grossing female-led film of the year and the biggest romance drama since A Star Is Born in 2018, which starred Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. Recently, the film surpassed $100 million at the domestic box office.
After a strong opening with $80 million worldwide and consistent performance over several weeks, the movie is continuing to do well and is expected to reach more significant milestones.
Highest-Grossing Movies of 2024 So Far
Inside Out 2 leads the 2024 box office with over $1.6 billion globally, holding a significant lead over Deadpool & Wolverine, which recently crossed the $1 billion mark and became the highest-grossing R-rated movie ever. Despicable Me 4 is also among the top five, earning just over $850 million.
Additionally, Dune: Part Two, a sequel to the Oscar-winning sci-fi epic, concluded its run with more than $700 million, including over $425 million from international markets.
