Mob Psycho 100 is a manga that was created by the famous creators of “One Piece.” Shigeo Kageyama, a middle school student with extraordinary psychic abilities and the unfortunate nickname “Mob” due to his absence, narrates the story in an animated series.
Mob has extraordinary skills, but he wants a conventional life so much that he represses his feelings. In the manga, the main character, Shigeo Kageyama, is a middle schooler who wants nothing more than to lead a normal life.
Even though he gives off the impression of being shy and retiring, it turns out that the young guy really works part-time as an exorcist for a psychic consulting business. His “sensei” and firm owner, Arataka Reigen, is a scam artist who has no true psychic or spiritual skills.
The manga is also available in English translations for the Nook and Kindle via several online and offline bookstores, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and many more outside of Japan.
Mob Psycho Manga 100 Synopsis
Mob’s experiences with his instructor, a guy named Reigen Arataka, who calls himself a psychic exorcist, are the focus of each chapter. Reigen seems to be nothing more than a con artist who is solely after Mob’s abilities at first appearance.
This link causes Mob’s sentiments and fears to mount to the point of explosion, at which point he acts violently. The scheme compensates for whatever disadvantages Reigen may provide Mob, such as taking him away from school or paying him poorly for each exorcism work he completes.
As he and his master tour the afterlife battling ghosts, Mob, who is socially uncomfortable, learns from his master how to make friends, regulate his emotions, and, most importantly, utilize his powers. Reigen, in contrast to the emotionless Mob, is vibrant with individuality and is equipped to handle any situation with composure.
Reigen’s main message to young Mob throughout the novel is that abilities don’t make you special. In addition, he describes how Mob’s skills are analogous to those of a knife-wielding danger.
The use of power is like the prudent use of a double-edged sword; it should never be used as a weapon. Mob has the unenviable dilemma of either complying with his bosses’ orders or defending his friends by resorting to violence.
Is The Mob Psycho 100 Manga Finished?
Mob Psycho 100’s story has come to a close. If not the anime itself, the webcomic certainly is, and vice versa. The webcomic ended in 2017, with just a manga spin-off titled Reigen continuing the story of Shigeo Kageyama’s secondary boss from the original story. The anime’s third season appears to be its last.
If you’ve been reading the Mob Psycho 100 manga and are sad that there won’t be any new chapters, you can always watch the TV anime instead. As a comprehensive adaptation, it allows viewers to see the show in a new light, with all the advantages of an anime production.
What Happened in the Ending of Mob Psycho 100 Manga?
Confession: The Future, the series conclusion of Mob Psycho 100, shows Reigen trying to stop his student from destroying Seasoning City. Because Mob is rapidly depleting Serizawa’s strength, Reigen decides to take action without consulting Serizawa.
Serizawa is worried about Reigen’s well-being since Mob’s powers are behaving irregularly. Reigen demonstrates the results of his undercover training to overcome the mob despite his lack of psychic skills.
Reigen, determined to put an end to Mob’s rampage, pushes himself to his physical and mental limitations and always comes out on top. Mob thinks Reigen treated him the same as everyone else, but he tries to open his eyes by suggesting Reigen was unfair to him because of his psychic abilities.
In a word, Mob’s special treatment by Reigen was entirely attributable to his special skills. Instead of ignoring them, Reigen apologizes to Mob for not seeing through his deception.
When challenged by Mob, Reigen did the unimaginable and confessed that he had never had any psychic talents and had been using Mob for his own ends. Reigen admitted to Mob that he often lied to him and his customers about his psychic skills, as he had nothing to hide.
Finally, Reigen lets Mob know that he, too, has a shadowy side, validating Mob’s concerns. Reigen assures Mob that he is acceptable in his current state. Without further ado, Mob and Reigen accepted each other, telling one another that they would return to their prior relationship position if Tsubomi decided to reject them.
