Tionne Tenese Watkins, popularly known as T-Boz, is an American singer and actress, she was born in Des Moines, Iowa. She gamed fame in the early 1990s as a member of the girl group TLC. She has also won Grammy Awards for her work with TLC. T-Boz identifies to be African American and Native American of Irish descent. She was born to James and Gayle Watkins, and her family moved from Des Moines to Atlanta, Georgia, when she was only nine years old.
The popular singer was diagnosed with Sickle cell anemia and has been in and out of the hospital since the age of seven because of her painful condition. She opened up about her disease in 1996 and later became a spokesperson for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America. She was hospitalized for four months in 2002 due to a flare-up of sickle cell anemia. She married rapper Mack 10 in August 2000, and they welcomed their first daughter Chase Anela Rolison in October 2000, who was born premature and was hospitalized in her early days of existence. In 2004, she filed a divorce and restraining order against Mack 10, stating that he committed adultery and threatened to kill her. She revealed in 2009 that she had secretly battled a potentially fatal brain for three years as she discovered the condition of acoustic neuroma in her vesicular nerve, which affected her balance, sight, hearing ability, weight, and facial movements.
The doctors refused to remove her tumors because of her prior sickle cell anemia, but ultimately she went under surgery in Los Angeles. She had moved from Atlanta to Los Angeles, California, in 2012 so her daughter could be closer to her father. Later in 2016, she announced that she had adopted a 10-month-old son named Chance.

T-Boz has been a sensational personality and has worked since her early days, despite the personal challenges that she has faced, she came out of it even stronger than she has ever been, from her sickle cell anemia to the birth of her premature daughter, and then the divorce situation followed by her tumor and bankruptcy, she has overcome all of it gracefully. Her career started with TLC, where her group successfully sold more than 65 million records, and she won four Grammy Awards as a member of TLC. Later in 2011, VH1 announced filming a biopic on the group in which her daughter played her younger role. During her work with TLC, she also recorded singles like Touch Myself and My Getaway, which were highly liked by the listeners.
Her television and film career started by appearing in a film called Belly, she also appeared in two episodes of Living Single. Her reality TV show Totally T-Boz, premiered on January 1, 2013, on the TLC network and ran for four episodes. She reunited with brand member Chili in the quest to create her solo album. Later in 2016, both of them joined actress Zoe Saldana for her performance. She lent her voice to a character in Trolland, also known as Trollz, a direct-to-DVD CGI-animated movie in 2017.
