Renovation Island, a successful HGTV show, features the Baeumlers as they repair Caerula Del Mar. Sarah and Bryan Baeumler relocated their household to the Bahamas’ South Andros Island to establish their fantasy world resort. They have six months to transform the hideous shabby property into the Caerula Mar Club. So, how is Renovation Island now doing? Here’s the latest on the Baeumlers’ fairytale.
Sarah and Bryan Baeumler had the idea to rebuild a house when visiting South Andros Island in 2017. According to Country Living, they discovered the 18-room, 22-villa holiday resort while there and decided to push it to a higher level to build their slice of heaven that others could enjoy. After pitching the concept to HGTV, the couple landed their program, Renovation Island, to document their progress.
The TV duo was forced to abandon the resort four months later when it was destroyed by Hurricane Dorian. Caerula Del Mar officially opened its gates for visitors in April 2019. However, they ran into difficulty with Hurricane Dorian right away. The hurricane that occurred in August 2019 caused several of their staff to lose everything, but the resort itself was unharmed.
Of course, this meant that the big re-opening was scheduled for February 2020, so we all know what occurred the following month. Caerula Mar Club, like nearly every other company in the globe, faced almost seven months of Covid-induced shutdown.
Coronavirus Outbreak
That indicated that by the point it reopened for the second time in October 2020, the island resort had only been open for five months during the entire year and a half it had been open. The gates reopened in February 2020, just before the coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19). Bryan and Sarah intended to let the house go in March 2020. Caerula Del Mar reopened in October 2020 with enhanced coronavirus safety.
According to an Instagram post uploaded on June 16, 2022, they gave coronavirus tests to guests and now demand all unvaccinated guests arrive with a negative test. With this in mind, it appears that the new health precautions are working effectively for the company.
Travelers may reserve a vacation at Caerula Del Mar in 2022 through the Restoration Island resort website. Travelers may schedule a three-night minimum stay for as cheap as $425 per night as of June 2022. Depending on the dates, rates might range up to $950 per night. In 2022, a current “Summer Special” is also running.
Renovation Resort Island In 2023
But, the duo was uncertain about the property’s future. Bryan revealed his fears about the enormity of the project during the third episode of season 4, admitting that if the hotel did not succeed, his family would be in financial trouble.
Later in the program, the Baeumlers said that a potential property in Utah attracted them and that a prospective buyer was interested in the island resort. Despite their concerns and the chance of a fresh challenge abroad, the Baeumlers opted to persevere with the project that had survived the pandemic, and the island resort remains open in 2023.
The Restoration Island resort is not cheap, but fans will not be displeased with the facilities. Private villas with one bedroom are 750 square feet, and two bedrooms are 800 square feet. The villas also have ocean views and are close to the beach. The guest receives Internet, air conditioning, quality bedding, bathrobes, hairdryers, daily maintenance, an in-room safe, iron and board, special Sarah Baeumler x Lovefresh bath and body treatments, and outside private sitting for up to four guests.
