Phyllis Summer is the most popular vixen in our daytime opera, The Young and the Restless. The fictional character made its debut in the American soap opera in 1994. Throughout these years, many actresses have played the role of Phyllis Summer in The Young and the Restless and kept the character alive. But is it the end of Phyllis Summer in the show now?
Michelle Stafford is a blonde who has played the character on and off since 1994. Over the years, Phyllis Summer was part of various storylines, including romantic relationships or controversies. Phyllis was part of many dramatic plot twists, whether as a villain figure or as the favorite character.
Is Michelle Stafford leaving The Young & the Restless with the death of her character Phyllis Summer?
Michelle Stafford debuted on the show in 1994, and from then until now, she intermittently played the part of Phyllis Summers. In 28 years, the actress has already left the show twice, and it would be upsetting for fans if she left again.
In 1997, Michelle left the character for the first time and was replaced by Sandra Nelson. After three years of break, the actress returned in 2000 to play the beloved character. Later in 2013, Stafford left The Young & Restless again because of her commitment to other shows. However, after six years, she reprised her role again, taking over from Gina Tognoni.
Before returning to “The Young and the Restless“ in 2019 to resume her role as Phyllis, she also briefly played the same character on another serial series, “The Bold and the Beautiful.” Michelle Safford has been awarded Two Daytime Emmy Awards for her work as Phyllis Summer.
How did Phyllis die in The Young & The Restless?
During one of the scenes in a recent episode, Phyllis, while arguing with Jack Abbott and Diane Jenkins, lost consciousness and fell. The fainting episode came as a shock not only to viewers but also to the guests at the party, during which Jeremy Stark announced his marriage to Phyllis. Double shock for you, too, right? Nevertheless, there is more terrible news awaiting.

While en route to the hospital, the ambulance with Phyllis in it crashed! It was instantly presumed that our favorite vixen of The Young & The Restless in no more.
Later, while Danny and Summer were struggling to accept the death of their mother and blaming themselves for her death, Phyllis was waiting in a motel. Yes! The character is not dead; it is all part of her plan. Phyllis reprimanded the unidentified person in the motel, saying, “Took you long enough.”
Why did Phyllis fake her death? Everything To Know
A few episodes earlier, before the fake-death scenes, Phyllis struggled with the strained relationship with her kids, Summer and Daniel. Her death made them realize how much they loved their mother, and it would not be easy to cope with their mom’s death. However, once again, Phyllis jeopardizes the relationship with her kids by faking her death.
It’s for sure that Phyllis put her family and others in misery by faking the death, especially her kids. Her daughter, Summer, has already accused her of prioritizing her interests before theirs. The accusation seems true when Phyllis just faked her death to get back with Diane.
In the recent episode after Phyllis’s fake death scenes, audiences witnessed her discussing a Fantastical plan to get back to Diana. Viewers have convinced Phyllis’s fake death was part of a pretty big plot that will be telecasted soon.
Though, it’s very natural to presume that Phyllis and Jeremy are plotting against Diana Jenkins. Will Phyllis plot against Jenkins for “murdering” her? Or will Diana be going to get haunted by Phyllis’s ghost? However, what lies ahead of us in the show is too calculative a move.
