Park Tae-Joon wrote and illustrated a Manhwa series that served as the inspiration for the South Korean series Lookism on Netflix. Park Hyung-Seok, the main character, is a young man who endures constant bullying from his friends because he is both small and overweight.
His mother sees this and chooses to enroll him in Jaewon High. Published on December 8th, 2022. Hyung-Seok wakes up on his “first day” inside the body of a young guy who is unusually tall, beautiful, and physically fit.
When he opens his eyes, he sees that his previous body is fast asleep next to him. It takes him some time to figure out that although his “primary” body is sleeping, his “secondary” body is wide awake.
Hyung-Seok decides to go to his new high school in his second body while continuing to work at his former grocery shop. While doing so, he sees the strong responses of others to his two radically different looks.
Lookism Season 2 Expectation
Season 2 of Lookism will be a thrilling continuation of the plot as well as an exploration of new storylines and character growth. Based on the webcomic by Park Tae-Joon, Lookism recounts the experiences of high school student Park Hyung Seok as he deals with bullying and prejudice because of his outward look.
But things alter drastically when he learns he can swap between his normal body and a gorgeous, fit one. A major subject of the show is “Lookism,” the study of prejudice and favoritism based on outward appearance.
It’s possible that the second season of Lookism added more personalities and storylines to the first season. This story arc will be translated first. It’s about Deok Hwa starting to show online with Hyung Seok’s help. In this part, too, new personalities are introduced.
The show’s unique body-switching idea allows characters to grow, problems like bullying and self-confidence to be explored, and people to grow as individuals.
In Lookism’s second season, there will be more time to explore these ideas and the characters’ interactions with the main character. It is easy and quick to make seasons, and there is a lot more content to choose from. Netflix and the show’s makers have not yet made a public comment.
Is Lookism Anime Finished?
Yes, the anime series has ended, but there are some rumors of another season.
Why Did Hyung Suk Gain a Body?
Park Hyung Suk is first introduced at the start of the show when he awakens in a body he doesn’t know. It’s all really spooky, but in the end, she looks in the mirror, and he discovers it’s actually him inhabiting a different body.
We travel back two weeks beyond past times, and we notice that Hyung Suk’s original physique is that of a small, obese, and unattractive person. He suffers from intense bullying at school from his peers. Hyung Suk is treated like a slave and subjected to unimaginable cruelty.
Hyung Suk’s mother is completely unaware of the reasons her son is often upset. She doesn’t realize what’s happening to her kid until she witnesses the bullying herself. When Hyung Suk requests a school transfer, she agrees.
As a result of his relocation, Hyung Suk must move away from his family and live on his own. He accepts this with little resistance and begins his new life, only to face street bullying and violence once more. It seems that he will endure unending pain.
Sadly, Hyung Suk has expressed a desire to pass away. Until, he adds, one night he wakes up in the body of a physically capable and strikingly gorgeous young man. This new body is the antithesis of his previous one. Hyung Suk, however, learns that his previous body is still present.
When he went to sleep, he also learned that his mental state could travel between bodies. Now that Hyung Suk has decided to utilize his gorgeous body to attend classes and enjoy his life, he must balance the needs of both of his bodies.
How Park Hyeong-Seok Changes Body?
Park Hyeong-seok’s new body appeared out of nowhere, so he needs to figure out on his own how and when to use his new skills. Once his old body wakes up from its sleep, the answer shows up.
Each body will go to sleep on its own and wake up at the same time. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case; Hyeong-seok does sometimes fall asleep. He has to have one of his bodies completely unconscious for him to be called asleep.
Why did that happen when a group of students went drinking? These events cause his beautiful outer self to pass out from drinking too much. As usual, Hyeong-seok wakes up in the form he had before. His other body is with his friends, but he tries to sleep as much as possible.
Park Hyeong-seok must be aware of the changes between his old and new bodies because they are so different from each other. It took him a while to get used to his new body, which was more slim and tall than the old one.
If he wants to talk on the phone with clients, the new one needs to be careful because his voice is different. Hyeong-Seok and the people who watch Lookism need to remember that his two bodies are two different people.
