Fortunately, No. What? Ice T is not leaving Law & Order: SVU, anytime soon. The rapper has just confirmed that he has no plans to part ways from the long-running series, shortly. Well, who would like to depart from something in which he has put so much effort for a long time? No one, right?
Let’s start the discussion a bit with his character. To the newbies, Ice T has been playing the role of Detective Odafin “Fin” Tutuola. He became Detective Munch’s partner after Monique left the show, being one of the significant characters. Little did you know, at the time of joining, Ice T just signed a contract with Law & Order, for just four episodes. But, that did not happen. As the days passed, he started getting along well with his fellow castmates and also got more involved with the series. That gave him the allowance and the opportunity to extend his contract and it’s still pretty much active.
Now, you must be wondering- what started the news of Ice T leaving Law & Order: SVU, after so many years. It started after the promo of Season 24 Episode 14 aired, titled “Dutch Tears.” Why? What happened? It showed Fin Tutuola having an emotional celebration of his 20 years of association with SVU. In addition to that, we also saw Benson hugging him, being so proud. Even previously, Fin Tutuola got shot but it all cleared up. That made him continue with the show.
But, the good news is your assumption is right! Ice T is not leaving Law & Order: SVU. It was in 2022 when he confirmed it through a post on Twitter. A part of it said, “FYI. People think I’m leaving SVU every time I do something else. Do they not understand I’ve got 20 jobs! Simultaneously.” Well, it makes a lot of sense. So, we shouldn’t worry about his exit, at least not now.
