“One Piece” Chapter 1129 delivers an exhilarating continuation of the Straw Hats’ daring escape from the clutches of the mysterious Sun God. Officially released earlier this weekend, the chapter shifts focus towards the crew’s imminent exit from the LEGO Kingdom.
This nail-biting escape is primarily thanks to Nami’s quick thinking and strategic navigation. In doing so, Chapter 1129 not only teases the true identity of the Sun God but also lays the groundwork for what seems to be the full-fledged start of the highly anticipated Elbaf Arc.
The chapter opens with the cover story, showing Yamato’s pilgrimage through Wano, arriving at Amigasa Village, where they watch Otama train to become a Kunoichi under Shinobu’s guidance.
However, the real story kicks off with the townsfolk of the LEGO kingdom attempting to calm down the enraged Sun God, who refers to the Straw Hats as “living dolls” for the destruction they’ve caused. Amid the chaos, Luffy requests Iskat to respect the Sun God’s craftsmanship while they make their escape.
During their escape, the Sun God interrogates Iskat about why it’s aiding the Straw Hats. Meanwhile, Nami uses her skills to analyze the LEGO kingdom’s map, revealing that the Straw Hats are only halfway through the kingdom.
The Sun God, however, throws a wrench in their plan by revealing the area is actually a prison for Giants. Despite the Sun God’s efforts to trap them, Sanji and Zoro manage to break free from the iron net set to capture them. The Sun God’s rant then turns to Hajrudin, whom he claims might recognize the Straw Hats. Usopp’s quick thinking allows him to shatter the mirror hiding the wall, prompting Luffy to prepare his signature attack.
As the Sun God further delves into his views, commenting on setbacks and character development, he starts naming each Straw Hat, which leaves Nami and the crew bewildered. Meanwhile, Luffy prepares his Gear 4, just his left arm, to break through the wall.
Nami and Sanji express their frustration toward the Sun God’s antics but are cautious due to a strange feeling Nami has about their situation. Flashbacks show Road, a navigator of the New Giant Warrior Pirates, interacting with Mugin and the Thousand Sunny, revealing that the Sun God is actually Road, putting the pieces together as to why they ended up in this particular situation.
Returning to the present, the chapter culminates with Nami and Zeus creating a thunderstorm that strikes Road, while Luffy’s powerful attack smashes through the wall. The Straw Hats celebrate their narrow escape, but the chapter leaves fans with a tantalizing cliffhanger about their true location, suggesting that they may have finally arrived in Elbaf.
